Background: Nursing home residents are typically excluded in studies of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA). Since nursing homes have on-site healthcare staff, cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) and use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) for OHCA would ideally be 100% before arrival of 9-1-1 emergency responders. However, little is known about healthcare provider bystander response and the degree of variability in initiating CPR and AED use in nursing homes.

Methods And Results: We included all POHCA calls (aged 0-18 years) from the emergency dispatch center in the Capital Region of Denmark between 2018 and 2021 and excluded POHCAs with no resuscitation order, found dead, where trained health professionals were on site, or where there was no possibility for initiation of cardiopulmonary resuscitation.

Background: Out-of-hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) is a major cause of morbidity and mortality globally, with survival outcomes remaining poor particularly in many low- and middle-income countries. We aimed to establish a pilot OHCA registry in Karachi, Pakistan to provide insights into OHCA patient demographics, pre-hospital and in-hospital care, and outcomes.
Methods: A multicenter longitudinal study was conducted from August 2015-October 2019 across 11 Karachi hospitals, using a standardized Utstein-based survey form.

Avian leukosis viruses (ALVs) include a group of avian retroviruses primarily associated with neoplastic diseases in poultry, commonly referred to as avian leukosis. Belonging to different subgroups based on their envelope properties, ALV subgroups A, B, and J (ALV-A, ALV-B, and ALV-J) are the most widespread in poultry populations. Early identification and removal of virus-shedding birds from infected flocks are essential for the ALVs' eradication.
