Studies of material returned from Cb asteroid Ryugu have revealed considerable mineralogical and chemical heterogeneity, stemming primarily from brecciation and aqueous alteration. Isotopic anomalies could have also been affected by delivery of exogenous clasts and aqueous mobilization of soluble elements. Here, we show that isotopic anomalies for mildly soluble Cr are highly variable in Ryugu and CI chondrites, whereas those of Ti are relatively uniform. This variation in Cr isotope ratios is most likely due to physicochemical fractionation between Cr-rich presolar nanoparticles and Cr-bearing secondary minerals at the millimeter-scale in the bulk samples, likely due to extensive aqueous alteration in their parent bodies that occurred [Formula: see text] after Solar System birth. In contrast, Ti isotopes were marginally affected by this process. Our results show that isotopic heterogeneities in asteroids are not all nebular or accretionary in nature but can also reflect element redistribution by water.

The timely release of chemical messengers is a crucial step in cell-to-cell communication. Does this release occur as a passive diffusion from the donor membrane or it is actively regulated? A series of studies indicated that chemical messengers' secretion is "sub-quantal". This mode of secretion demands a strongly regulated release mechanism and calls for a thorough characterization of the release sites.

Excessive aluminum ions (Al) contaminate environmental water bodies, and once they remain in the human body, they will pose a threat to human health. In this paper, a benzothiazole-based fluorescent sensor named BHMH for detecting Al was successfully synthesized and comprehensively characterized. It exhibited remarkable selectivity and sensitivity, manifested by a substantial fluorescence augmentation and a discernible color alteration in the presence of Al.

Colloidal Lignin Particles (CLPs), with their polyphenolic structure, are promising sustainable alternatives to chemical UV filters. This study investigates the photochemical behavior of CLPs under ultraviolet irradiation synthetized from five different technical raw lignins (Alkali, Organosolv, two Enzymatic Hydrolyzed and Softwood Kraft Lignin) via solvent-shift procedure. The suspensions were irradiated using a self-developed UV-pen set-up and a commercially available UV chamber, enabling controlled UV exposure over time.

Tuberculosis (TB), caused by , remains a global health emergency, particularly in low- and middle-income countries. Despite effective pharmacotherapy, prolonged treatment, poor adherence, and drug resistance continue to hinder eradication. Isoniazid (ISZ), a first-line antitubercular drug, is effective but limited by high aqueous solubility and short half-life, necessitating daily administration and causing plasma fluctuations.

Purpose: To investigate the association between preoperative aqueous humor (AqH) cytokines and mid-term endothelial cell density (ECD) after Descemet stripping automated endothelial keratoplasty (DSAEK).
Methods: This prospective study included 80 eyes: 47 eyes undergoing DSAEK and 33 cataract surgery eyes as controls. AqH samples were collected at the beginning of surgery.
