Unlabelled: Aiming for a combined cup and stem anteversion within a target range is one way to assess appropriate prosthetic component orientation and restoration of functional range of motion. We describe a surgical technique that allows the surgeon to assess the combined anteversion using a handheld accelerometer-based navigation system for total hip arthroplasty through a posterior approach. The femur is prepared first, at which time the femoral version is estimated by the surgeon. The acetabular component is then positioned using the navigation system to estimate anteversion, with the goal of providing a combined version of 37° ± 7°. The described technique allows surgeons to achieve the desired intraoperative combined anteversion.

This personal narrative recounts the experience of a nursing student, Sonia Sweat, and her family as they battled COVID-19 in 2020. After Sonia fell ill, her husband Jason followed suit, and his condition quickly deteriorated. Despite her efforts to care for him at home, Jason was eventually hospitalized and placed in the ICU, battling severe complications.

Purpose: Michigan Screening and Intervention for Glaucoma and Eye Health through Telemedicine Program (MI-SIGHT) was developed to facilitate access to glaucoma and eye disease screening and improve attendance at recommended follow-up in underserved communities. MI-SIGHT offered free eye disease screenings, low-cost glasses and for those who screened positive for glaucoma, personalized education, and language-concordant coaching grounded in motivational interviewing. The primary aims of this study were 1) To explore barriers to eye care among Latine participants with limited English proficiency (LEP) who screened positive for glaucoma, 2) to understand whether and how the MI-SIGHT program facilitated access to care and 3) to understand participant experience in MI-SIGHT to inform the development of future interventions.

Background: Cancer screening nonadherence persists among adults who are deaf, deafblind, and hard of hearing (DDBHH). These barriers span individual, clinician, and health care system levels, contributing to difficulties understanding cancer information, accessing screening services, and following treatment directives.
