Article Abstract

Five new lipids, tricholixins A-E (-), and two known terpenoids, brasilane A () and harzianone A (), were discovered from a deep-sea strain (R22) of the fungus isolated from the cold seep sediments of the South China Sea. Their structures and relative configurations were identified by meticulous analysis of MS and IR as well as NMR data. The absolute configuration of was ascertained by dimolybdenum-induced ECD data in particular. Compounds and represent the only two new butenolides from marine-derived , and they further add to the structural diversity of these molecules. Although has been reported from a basidiomycete previously, it is the first brasilane aminoglycoside of origin. During the assay against wheat-pathogenic fungi, both and inhibited with an MIC value of 25.0 μg/mL, and suppressed with an MIC value of 12.5 μg/mL. Moreover, the three isolates also showed low toxicity to the brine shrimp .

Salt stress impairs photosynthetic efficiency and consequently reduces the growth, development, and grain yield of crop plants. The formation of hydrophobic barriers in the root endodermis, including the suberin lamellae and Casparian strips, is a key adaptive strategy for salt stress tolerance. In this study, we identified the role of the rice NAC transcription factor, ONAC005, in salt stress tolerance.

A Gram-staining-negative, non-motile, aerobic, rod-shaped bacterium, designated 14752, was isolated from a saline lake in Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China. The strain was subjected to a taxonomic study using a polyphasic approach. Strain 14752 was able to grow at 4-40 ℃ (optimum 28 ℃), pH 6.

Plastoglobuli (PG) are plant lipoprotein compartments, present in plastid organelles. They are involved in the formation and/or storage of lipophilic metabolites. FIBRILLINs (FBNs) are one of the main PG-associated proteins and are particularly abundant in carotenoid-enriched chromoplasts found in ripe fruits and flowers.

Lutein and omega-3 fatty acids, particularly eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA) and docosahexaenoic acid (DHA), offer significant health benefits, especially when consumed together. However, their incorporation in food is often low due to their instability during processing and storage. Meat products play an essential role in human nutrition and are generally deficient in lutein and omega-3 fatty acids.

Recently, the regulatory effect of natural antioxidants on oleogels has attracted the attention of scholars. Whether natural antioxidants with different structures can co-gel with gelators remains unclear. In this study, the impact of water-soluble (dihydroquercetin and epicatechin) and fat-soluble (lycopene and L-ascorbate palmitate) antioxidants on the physicochemical properties of diacylglycerol oleogels was investigated.
