Rationale: At birth, infants' lungs are fluid-filled. For newborns to have a successful transition, this fluid must be replaced by air to enable gas exchange. Some infants are judged to have inadequate breathing at birth and are resuscitated with positive pressure ventilation (PPV).

Study of the ideal insertion point and angle for the antegrade posterior column screw with the anterior approach in acetabular fracture.

Department of Orthopedic Surgery, Science of Functional Recovery and Reconstruction, Faculty of Medicine, Dentistry and Pharmaceutical Sciences, Okayama University, 2-5-1 Shikata, Kitaku, Okayama City, Okayama, 700-8558 Japan.

Background: For acetabular fractures of both columns, the antegrade posterior column screw (APCS) is often inserted via the anterior intrapelvic approach to stabilize both columns. Insertion of the APCS can be technically demanding due to the complex anatomy of the posterior column. Misdirection or mispositioning of the screw during surgery can result in penetrate the hip joint or damage the neurovascular structures.

Background: Ex vivo lung perfusion (EVLP) of donor lungs not otherwise acceptable for transplantation can provide outcomes similar to standard-criteria lung transplantation and has been reported to increase transplant volume by approximately 20% in some transplant centers. Evidence to support decisions about use of EVLP is limited, so expert opinion can be a useful decision aid. This study developed expert consensus recommendations for EVLP with acellular perfusate using a modified Delphi method.

Introduction: Low-molecular-weight (LMW) PSMA-targeted agents have enjoyed success; however, their off-target toxicity in normal tissues such as kidneys, salivary gland and lacrimal gland can be dose limiting. Herein, we have evaluated the effect of co-administration of the non-radioactive iodo pseudo carrier, iodo YF2, on the normal tissue uptake of [At]YF2 in xenografted mice. The potential implications for clinical translation of these studies were investigated by evaluating the binding of LMW PSMA-targeted agents to murine and human PSMA.

Background: Managing complex fracture-dislocations of the proximal interphalangeal (PIP) joint poses significant clinical challenges, necessitating innovative treatment strategies.

Case Description: This case report highlights the successful treatment of a severe PIP joint fracture-dislocation in a 49-year-old male carpenter who sustained a traumatic laceration to the right index finger. The injury's complexity led to the pioneering use of an osteochondral autograft from the patient's second toe proximal phalanx, marking a novel approach in autologous tissue utilization for joint reconstruction.
