: Radiation exposure is an occupational hazard for interventional cardiologists and cardiac catheterisation laboratory staff that can manifest with serious long-term health consequences. Personal protective equipment, including lead jackets and glasses, is common, but the use of radiation protective lead caps is inconsistent. : A systematic review qualitative assessment of five observational studies using the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Reviews and Meta-Analyses guidelines protocol was performed. : It was concluded that lead caps significantly reduce radiation exposure to the head, even when a ceiling-mounted lead shield was present. : Although newer protective systems are being studied and introduced, tools, such as lead caps, need to be strongly considered and employed in the catheterisation laboratory as mainstay personal protective equipment.

Background And Objectives: Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) is a progressive liver disorder associated with metabolic risk factors such as obesity, type 2 diabetes, and cardiovascular disease. If left untreated, the accumulation of excess hepatic fat can lead to inflammation, fibrosis, cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma, and ultimately liver failure. Capsaicin (CAP), the primary pungent compound in chili peppers, has previously been shown to prevent weight gain in high-fat diet (HFD)-induced obesity models.

This study investigates the concentrations, distribution patterns, and potential health risks of cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb) in forest soils and four wild mushrooms (Armillaria mellea, Macrolepiota procera, Tricholoma portentosum, and Lactarius deterrimus) collected from the Petrova Gora region, Croatia. The results showed moderate spatial variability, with mean concentrations of Cd and Pb measured at 0.44 mg/kg and 22.

Surgeons, as high-resource users and clinical decision-makers, are uniquely positioned to lead sustainability efforts.

Objective: Hearing loss in children and adolescents can significantly impact social interactions, language development, and emotional well-being, often leading to academic and mental health challenges. This qualitative, retrospective study examines how individuals reflect on their experiences growing up with hearing loss, including the challenges they faced, the support they received, and the coping strategies they developed over time.
Design And Study Sample: Participants aged 16 and older with personal experiences of hearing loss were recruited through audiology services in England and Scotland (UK), as well as community and online channels.

It is a psychobiological state induced by prolonged or intense cognitive tasks, characterized by a subjective feeling of exhaustion and lack of energy. While mental fatigue effects are well-documented in young adults, its influence on older adults remains unclear.
