Purpose: To observe the efficacy and safety of intranasal dexmedetomidine combined with midazolam in cranial magnetic resonance imaging of children.
Design: A prospective, observational, single-arm, one-center study.
Methods: A total of 474 children were scheduled for cranial 3.0 T MRI at the first time. All patients were initially given 3 mcg/kg dexmedetomidine combined with 0.15 mg/kg midazolam. The one-time success rate, vital signs before and after treatment, onset time, recovery time, and incidence of adverse reactions were recorded.
Findings: The one-time success rate was 78.1%. There were significant differences in respiration, heart rate, and blood oxygen saturation before and after treatment (P < .001). The onset time was 10 (8-15) minutes. The average recovery time was 2.58 ± 1.10 hours. Only 1.27% (6 cases) of adverse reactions were observed, including bradycardia (3 cases, 0.6%), tachycardia (1 case, 0.2%), and startle (2 cases, 0.4%). No special treatment was needed. The success of the examination was significantly correlated with age (OR 1.320, 95% CI 1.019-1.710, P = .035) and onset time (OR 0.959, 95% CI 0.921-0.998, P = .038).
Conclusion: Dexmedetomidine 3 mcg/kg combined with midazolam 0.15 mg/kg intranasally has a good sedative effect in pediatric cranial magnetic resonance examinations, little impact on breathing and circulation, and few adverse reactions. Age and onset time are related factors affecting the one-time success rate.

Background: Belzutifan is a HIF-2ɑ inhibitor approved for the treatment of tumors in von Hippel-Lindau (VHL) syndrome and sporadic metastatic clear cell renal cell carcinoma (spRCC) in the refractory setting. The efficacy and side effects of belzutifan are well-documented from clinical trials, however, real-world data examining the incidence and management of adverse events (AEs) are lacking. Our study aims to describe the AE profiles of belzutifan in spRCC and VHL populations.

Introduction: Information on tertiary hyperparathyroidism (THPTH) among chronic kidney disease (CKD) patients on haemodialysis in developing countries such as India is limited, and the mortality among them remains a query.
Materials And Methods: This was a prospective cohort study conducted in at a tertiary care centre from June 2017 to June 2022. The index of suspicion for tertiary hyperparathyroidism was when investigations revealed high serum calcium and high alkaline phosphatase along with new onset of body aches, joint pains, and difficulty in walking.

Introduction: No head-to-head studies comparing the efficacy of avalglucosidase alfa (AVA) with cipaglucosidase alfa + miglustat (Cipa+mig) have been conducted in patients with late-onset Pompe disease (LOPD). Two indirect treatment comparisons (ITCs) were conducted to estimate the effects of AVA versus Cipa+mig.
Methods: ITCs were conducted using simulated treatment comparisons (STCs), adjusting for differences in prognostic factors and treatment effect modifiers.

Background: The suppressor of tumorigenesis 2 (ST2) has emerged as one of the most promising biomarkers for predicting mortality of acute graft-versus-host disease (aGvHD) when measured at the onset of symptoms, but detailed time course studies are needed to understand the potential of ST2 as a risk marker of both aGvHD and chronic graft-versus-host disease (cGvHD), potentially allowing pre-emptive adjustment of immunosuppressive treatment.
Procedure: We measured ST2 levels in 117 children undergoing standard hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (HSCT) before conditioning and at regular intervals post-HSCT.
Results: ST2 levels were significantly increased from Day +7 in patients developing aGvHD of any grade (no GvHD: 23.

The presence of water significantly impacts the physical stability of amorphous solid dispersions (ASDs) by altering polymer molecular mobility. This study investigates the influence of low levels of absorbed water on the molecular dynamics and glass transition behavior of amorphous poly(vinylpyrrolidone--vinyl acetate) (PVP/VA). Melt-quenched PVP/VA discs were conditioned at controlled relative humidities (RH 8.
