Background: Monochorionic twins, characterized by placental sharing and vascular anastomoses, carry a high risk of brain injury, including perinatal arterial ischemic stroke (PAIS). However, the pathophysiology and timing-related risk factors of PAIS remain unclear.

Methods: Retrospective cohort of all monochorionic twins with neuroimaging-confirmed PAIS born from 2005 to 2024 and evaluated at a Dutch national referral center.

Unlabelled: Bariatric surgery has emerged as a highly effective treatment option for individuals with obesity. Severe hypoalbuminaemia is a feared complication after a Roux-en-Y gastric bypass. It is characterised by a low serum albumin level of <25 g/l, neither explained by renal losses, protein-losing enteropathy nor by liver disfunction, and is associated with high morbidity and mortality.

Background: Transforming Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) recommendations into computer readable language is a complex and ongoing process that requires significant resources, including time, expertise, and funds. The objective is to provide an extension of the widely used GIN-McMaster Guideline Development Checklist (GDC) and Tool for the development of computable guidelines (CGs).

Methods: Based on an outcome from the Human Centered Design (HCD) workshop hosted by the Guidelines International Network North America (GIN-NA), a team was formed to develop the checklist extension.

Endovascular mechanical thrombectomy (MT) is a recommended treatment for acute ischemic stroke due to large vessel occlusion (LVO). The objective of the present study was to evaluate the impact of vascular risk factors on the outcome of MT outcomes in patients with stroke with LVO and to determine the prevalence of structural epilepsy in these patients. This was a retrospective cohort study involving patients with stroke between 20 and 80 years of age with LVO who underwent MT.
