Background: Schizophrenia is a debilitating disorder commonly associated with significant cognitive impairment, particularly in memory. Reduced gray matter volume in various brain regions, including hippocampus and its subfields, is also well-documented in individuals with schizophrenia (SZH). However, few studies have investigated how memory deficits relate to hippocampal subfield volume deficits.

Various studies have reported an association between physical activity and grey matter volumes. Some studies have suggested that this relationship may be moderated by sex, yet the direction is still under debate. Focusing on hippocampus and dorsolateral prefrontal cortex (dlPFC), we tested whether the association between regional grey matter volumes and self-reported physical activity differs between women and men.

We propose a novel formulation of a moving boundary method to account for the motion of the intimal flap (IF) in a TBAD post-thoracic endovascular aortic repair using patient-specific compliant computational fluid dynamics simulations. The simulations were informed by non-invasive 4D flow MRI sequences. Predicted flow waveforms, aortic wall, and IF displacements were validated against in vivo 4D flow MRI and cine-MRI data.
