Minimal-invasive mitral valve surgery after breast augmentation is an ongoing interdisciplinary challenge. Notably, the perioperative explantation of the breast implant, as reported in most cases, is of questionable benefit. We herein report on successful minimal-invasive mitral valve repair after subpectoral breast augmentation with perioperative preservation of the breast implant in situ.

Objective: This study aimed to show the differences in the results of cryoablation simultaneously applied with the operation to convert atrial fibrillation (AF) to sinus rhythm in patients with AF who underwent mitral valve surgery and the differences in the thoracotomy and sternotomy groups.
Methods: A total of 62 patients who underwent mitral valve surgery in a single center between 2017 and 2023 were included in the study. The patients were divided into two groups: the sternotomy group and the thoracotomy group.

: The aim was to assess the long-term outcomes, safety, and durability of total endoscopic mitral valve repair for Barlow mitral valve disease. : A retrospective analysis of 98 patients undergoing minimal invasive total endoscopic mitral valve repair for Barlow mitral valve disease was conducted between May 2009 and December 2023. A non-resectional repair approach using artificial neochordae and/or ring annuloplasty was performed.

Objectives: Barlow's disease is a specific sub-form of mitral valve (MV) disease, characterized by diffuse excessive tissue and multi segment prolapse. The anterolateral mini-thoracotomy represents the standard access for MV regurgitation in many centres. It still remains unclear which surgical technique provides the best results.

Background: Mitral valve (MV) regurgitation (MR) is the second most frequent indication for valvular surgery in Europe. Right ventricular (RV) dysfunction is a common finding after cardiac surgery and might persist for years. The RV-function after MV surgery has been controversially discussed.
