The efficient energy use in multiple sectors of modern industry is partly based on the efficient use of high-strength, high-performance alloys that retain remarkable mechanical properties at elevated and high temperatures. High-entropy alloys (HEAs) represent the most recent class of these materials with a high potential for high-temperature high-strength applications. Aside from their chemical composition and microstructure-property relationship, limited information on the effect of heat treatment as a decisive factor for alloy design is available in the literature. This work intends to contribute to this research topic by investigating the effect of heat treatment on the microstructure and mechanical performance of an AlCoCrFeNiTi HEA. The solution annealed state is compared to aged states obtained at different heat treatment times at 750 °C. The temporal evolution of the matrix and the γ'-precipitates are analyzed in terms of chemical composition, crystallography, size, shape, and volume fraction by means of scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and atom probe tomography. The yield strength evolution and strength contributions are calculated by classical state-of-the-art models as well as by ab-initio-based calculations of the critical resolved shear stress. The findings indicate promising mechanical properties of the investigated alloy and provide insight not only into possible strengthening mechanisms but also into the evolution of main phases during the heat treatment.

Pea shoots (Pisum sativum) are well known to have nutritional benefits when consumed raw; however, the effects of home cooking on their bioactive compounds remain unclear. Therefore, we investigated how different cooking methods affect the antioxidant activity and stability of antioxidants. Our evaluation revealed that antioxidant activity is preserved by steaming but significantly reduced by microwaving and boiling, which also causes weight loss during cooking.

Colorectal cancer (CRC) remains a major global health burden, necessitating more effective and selective therapeutic approaches. Nanocarrier-based drug delivery systems offer significant advantages by enhancing drug accumulation in tumors, reducing off-target toxicity, and overcoming resistance mechanisms. This review provides a comprehensive overview of recent advancements in nanocarriers for CRC therapy, including passive targeting the enhanced permeability and retention (EPR) effect, and active targeting strategies that exploit specific tumor markers using ligands such as antibodies, peptides, and aptamers.

Objective: This study investigated the locations of amino acid modifications within two major human hair keratins (Type I K31 and Type II K85) with probable implications for protein and hair structural component integrity. The particular focus was on cysteine modifications that disrupt intra-protein and inter-protein disulphide bonds.
Methods: Human hair was exposed to accelerated, sequential heat or UV treatments, simulating effects resulting from the use of heated styling tools and environmental exposure over a time frame approximating one year.

Background: Romosozumab is a sclerostin-inhibiting monoclonal antibody that is effective and safe for anabolic treatment in patients with osteoporosis. Its main adverse effects are local; the severity of these injection-site reactions in clinical trials was generally mild.
Case Report: We present a case of a 71-year-old Colombian woman with osteoporosis at very high risk of fractures with no relevant history of drug allergies.

Background: Any injury to the diabetic limbs may portent disastrous consequences. However, it is not uncommon for diabetics to also seek complementary and alternative medicine for treatment, such as acupuncture. There are limited data on infective or ulcerative adverse events regarding acupuncture in diabetic limbs.
