Background: In response to the opioid epidemic, many surgical specialties have adopted nonopioid pain management strategies. Ultrasound (US)-guided peripheral nerve blocks (PNBs) are effective in reducing pain and opioid consumption postsurgery. Liposomal bupivacaine (LB), shown effective in shoulder surgery, was approved in November 2023 for use in US-guided lower extremity blocks.

Objectives: We propose a myocardial infarction (MI) detection and localization model for improving the diagnostic accuracy for MI to provide assistance to clinical decision-making.

Methods: The proposed model was constructed based on multi-scale field residual blocks fusion modified channel attention (MSF-RB-MCA). The model utilizes lead II electrocardiogram (ECG) signals to detect and localize MI, and extracts different levels of feature information through the multi-scale field residual block.

Background: Ultrasound-guided abdominal wall blocks are increasingly used to enhance postoperative analgesia in laparoscopic nephrectomy. Among these, the transversus abdominis plane (TAP) block and the quadratus lumborum (QL) block have emerged as promising techniques. However, no comprehensive review has yet compared the analgesic efficacy of these two regional approaches.

Brachial plexus block at the interscalene level is a regional anesthetic technique widely used to provide analgesia in shoulder and upper extremity surgery; However, it is associated with a high incidence of phrenic nerve block with diaphragmatic paralysis which has clinical implications in patients with underlying respiratory disease, showing respiratory difficulty symptoms. As consequence, it has been contraindicated in certain population groups. Once diaphragmatic paralysis and respiratory symptoms are established, management is supportive and expectant.

Background: Mental health issues among middle school students are closely associated with life events and childhood trauma experiences. However, the interactive pathways among these three factors remain unclear. Based on network analysis, this study constructs a network model to identify core nodes (high-intensity symptoms) and bridge nodes (cross-group associated symptoms), aiming to reveal their interaction mechanisms and provide a foundation for targeted interventions in adolescent mental health.
