Bloodstream infections (BSIs) caused by are a significant cause of morbidity and mortality. Geographical variations exist in the epidemiology of candidemia, with a paucity of data in the many low- and middle-income countries. A term neonate with no significant perinatal events presented to us with sudden onset seizures and altered sensorium in the second week of life. The seizures were initially managed with antiepileptic drugs and antibiotics for suspected sepsis. The initial investigations did not reveal meningitis.
