Article Abstract

We report 2 outbreaks of genetically unrelated carbapenem-resistant New Delhi metallo-β-lactamase-producing caused by contaminated duodenoscopes. Using endoscopes with disposable end caps, adherence to the manufacturer's reprocessing instructions, routine audits, and manufacturer evaluation are critical in preventing such outbreaks.

A triphenyl-imidazole end-capped donor-acceptor type potential molecular probe 3 has been designed and synthesized. Probe 3 upon interaction with different classes of metal ions/anions and NPPs displayed high selectivity with CN anion (LOD = 20.42 nM) through fluorescence "turn-Off" response and a naked-eye sensitive visible color change.

Objectives: This study aimed to analyse the number of myocardial infarction (MI) admissions during the COVID-19 lockdown periods of 2020 and 2021 (March 15th to June 15th) and compare them with corresponding pre-pandemic period in 2019. The study also evaluated changes in critical treatment intervals: onset to door (O2D), door to balloon (D2B) and door to needle (D2N) and assessed 30-day clinical outcomes. This study examined MI care trends in India during the COVID-19 lockdown period, irrespective of patients' COVID-19 infection status.

Real-world use of terlipressin in cirrhosis and acute kidney injury: frequent use beyond hepatorenal syndrome.

Clin Gastroenterol Hepatol

September 2025

Unit of Internal Medicine and Hepatology, Department of Medicine, University and Hospital of Padova, Padova, Italy. Electronic address:

Background & Aims: Terlipressin is indicated to treat hepatorenal syndrome (HRS)-acute kidney injury (AKI), but is likely used outside this primary indication in clinical practice. We aimed to investigate real-world practice patterns on the use of terlipressin in AKI in cirrhosis.

Methods: International prospective study including patients hospitalized for decompensated cirrhosis.

Degraded lands are crucial for achieving the CoP-26 targets such as, achieving net-zero to limit global warming by 2030. Transforming these lands with sustainable and nature positive practice is vital to increasing C stocks, offsetting greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions, and improving land values. The degraded shallow basaltic landscape was rehabilitated through bio-engineering strategies in 2012-13 and assessed the impact of fruit trees (mango, pomegranate, and coconut) cultivation on GHG mitigation potential, yield, generating C credits, and oxygen production over eight-years (up to 2021-22).

Oxidative stress, driven by excess reactive oxygen species (ROS), induces widespread biomolecular damage through the oxidation of lipids, proteins, and nucleic acids, contributing to the onset and progression of numerous inflammatory diseases. Among these, 4-hydroxynonenal (4-HNE) and 8-hydroxy-2'-deoxyguanosine (8-OHdG) are widely recognized as biomarkers of lipid peroxidation and oxidative DNA damage, respectively. In this study, we have investigated the potential of lactoferrin, an innate immune glycoprotein with established antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties, to modulate the activity of these reactive byproducts.
