Article Abstract

Two new species of the subgenus Reticularisus Wu, Wu & Han, 2022 of the genus Fixsen, 1887, Rhamnosa (Reticularisus) chenjuni and Rh. (R.) mangshanensis, are described from the provinces of Hunan and Guangdong, China. The adults and genital structures of the new species and similar examined species are illustrated. A checklist of the genus is provided.

Mecopini has received limited attention since the last century, highlighting an important knowledge gap in its systematics and taxonomy. The morphological characteristics of several genera within this tribe contradict the widely accepted tribal diagnosis, suggesting the current classification is unsustainable. In this study, we examined mecopine specimens from Taiwan and the Philippines, reconstructed the first molecular phylogeny estimate for this obscure tribe, and examined type series of all described Pascoe, () Heller and () Heller, representing two subgenera within the genus Pascoe, to propose taxonomic acts on these genera.

The delimitation of species boundaries has been a constant challenge to the fields of systematics, natural history, and conservation biology. Subtle and minor morphological differences in a widespread species complex make delimiting species boundaries particularly difficult. High throughput targeted sequencing of hundreds of loci has allowed researchers to obtain improved insights into evolutionary processes and resolved previously ambiguous phylogenetic relationships.

Knowledge of the intraspecific variability of volatiles produced by plants is central for estimating their fluxes from ecosystems and for understanding their evolution in an ecological and phylogenetic context. Past studies suggested that volatile emissions from Cork oak ( L.) exhibit a high degree of qualitative and quantitative polymorphism.

Widespread species may exhibit considerable genetic variation among populations due to their extensive distribution ranges, and may even give rise to new species in remote areas. Integrative species delimitation via multiple types can provide a robust framework for accurate species identification and rapid discovery of cryptic diversity. The subgenus (Hemiptera: Coreidae: ) has several species and three broadly distributed species across China.

Screening for Viruses in Pallas's Long-Tongued Bats (Glossophaga soricina) in Brazil.

Laboratório de Imunologia e Biologia Molecular, Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre, Brazil.

Bats are considered a unique group of mammals and are recognized as natural hosts for a variety of emerging viral agents of One Health importance. In Brazil, nine bat families are described, of which the family Phyllostomidae contains the highest number of cataloged species. Within them, the Pallas's long-tongued bat (Glossophaga soricina) is one of the most widely distributed species in South America.
