The development of high-performance glucose sensors is an urgent need, especially for diabetes mellitus diagnosis. However, the glucose monitoring is conventionally operated in an invasive finger-prick manner and their noninvasive alternatives largely suffered from the relatively poor sensitivity, selectivity, and stability, resulted from the lack of robust and efficient catalysts. In this paper, we design a concave shaped nitrogen-doped carbon framework embellished with single Co site catalyst (Co SSC) by selectively controlling the etching rate on different facet of carbon substrate, which is beneficial to the diffusion and contact of analyte. The Co SSC prompts a significant improvement in the sensitivity of the solution-gated graphene transistor (SGGT) devices, with three orders of magnitude better than those of SGGT devices without catalysts. Our findings expand the field of single site catalyst in the application of biosensors, diabetes diagnostics and personalized health-care monitoring.

Nasal alar reconstruction is complex due to the region's anatomy and aesthetic importance. This report describes repairing a small, full-thickness alar rim defect in a 36-year-old man using a rotational columellar skin flap with septal cartilage grafting. This single-stage technique achieved good color match, symmetry, and minimal donor-site morbidity.

Background: Perioperative antibiotic prophylaxis (PAP) prior to laparoscopic gastric bypass surgery is still under debate due to a lack of high evidence. Thus, the study at hand aimed to find out whether this medication lowers the rate of postoperative complications or not.
Methods: In 2020, a retrospective analysis took place at Helios Hospital Berlin Buch, Germany.

Background: Appendicectomy is a well-established surgical procedure used for managing of acute appendicitis. In open appendicectomy, McBurney's point is the surgical landmark for locating the appendix, and it is common practice to make an incision there. However, in this study, we identified the root of the appendix via computed tomography, made an incision around that sites, and performed the appendicectomy through this incision.

Background And Purpose: Low-level light therapy (LLLT) has been shown to modulate recovery in patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI). However, the longitudinal impact of LLLT on brain metabolites has not been studied. The purpose of this study was to use magnetic resonance spectroscopic imaging (MRSI) to assess the metabolic response of LLLT in patients with moderate TBI at acute (within 1 week), subacute (2-3 weeks), and late-subacute (3 months) recovery phases.

Targeted drug delivery significantly enhances therapeutic efficacy across various diseases, particularly in cancer treatments, where conventional approaches such as chemotherapy and radiotherapy often cause severe side effects. In this context, nucleic acid aptamers-short, single-stranded DNA or RNA oligonucleotides capable of binding specific targets with high affinity-have emerged as promising tools for precision drug delivery and therapy. Aptamers can be selected against whole, living cells using SELEX and chemically modified for diverse applications.
