The present study provides new host and first description of the male of Colobomatus stelliferi Pombo, Turra, Paschoal & Luque, 2015 (Copepoda, Philichthyidae), collected from the mandibular canals of the Argentine croaker Umbrina canosai Berg, off the State of Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Four out of nine fish analyzed (prevalence 44.4%) were parasitized by C. stelliferi and showed a mean intensity of 2.5 (range 2-3, standard deviation 1.25). Adult males of C. stelliferi can be differentiated from their closest congeners based on the combination of the following characters: maxilliped with naked basal segment and small apical spine, the presence of two elements on the second endopodal segment of the antenna, and the presence of leg 4. This parasitic copepod is seemingly host-specific to fish of the family Sciaenidae and its occurrence is restricted to the Brazilian coast. The present results contribute to our knowledge of the biology of C. stelliferi and of the parasitic copepod fauna from Brazil.

Black swallow-wort () is an aggressive invasive vine infesting pastures and fields in the northeastern United States. An unknown fungal pathogen was recovered from foliar lesions occurring on black swallow-wort at two locations in Rhode Island in 2022 and was identified as based on morphological and molecular descriptions of eight isolates. The potential weed biological control value of a single isolate, FDWSRU 22-216, was evaluated through colonized agar block and conidial spray inoculations of black swallow-wort.

Fifteen specimens of the devil firefish, (Bennett) (Perciformes: Scorpaenidae), were collected from the Red Sea off Safaga, Egypt, between November 2022 and April 2024, and examined for parasitic infections. Parasitological analyses included light and scanning electron microscopy (SEM) for morphology, alongside partial sequencing of the 28 S rDNA gene for molecular characterization. A single digenean species was found in the intestine of 12 out of 15 (80%) specimens, identified as (Nagaty & Abdel Aal, 1962) Durio & Manter 1968 (Opecoelidae: Hamacreadiinae).

This study isolated endophytic fungi of the genus from (Chinese agarwood) in Guangxi, China. Through rigorous morphological comparisons and molecular phylogenetic analyses, we have identified two new species ( and ) and two new host-recorded species ( and ). The morphological analysis revealed that the new species align with the genus-level definition of in colony morphology, conidiophores, and conidial characteristics.
