Objective: The latest version of the Leksell Gamma Knife IconTM allows for mask- and frame-based fixation. Although mask fixation provides fractionated treatment and immobilization using a noninvasive method, it is not free from collision. The authors investigated the collision problem with a modified mask fixation method.
Methods: This study presents a case of two meningiomas in the frontal area, where a collision occurs in the occipital area. A modified mask fixation method was introduced to avoid the collision : first, the edges of the head cushion were cut off and polystyrene beads with a diameter of approximately 5 cm were removed. Next, the head cushion was sealed using a stapler. Finally, the head cushion was flattened in the adapter. We compared the shot coordinates, 3-dimensional (3D) error, clearance distance, and vertical depth of the head cushion between the initial and modified mask fixations.
Results: When comparing the initial and modified mask fixations, the difference in the shot coordinates was +10.5 mm along the y-axis, the difference in the 3D error was approximately 18 mm, and the difference in clearance was -10.2 mm. The head cushion was approximately 8 mm deeper in the modified mask fixation.
Conclusion: Based on these findings, we recommend a modified mask fixation method for gamma knife radiosurgery using ICON with a collision.

Ligand-targeted nanomedicines provide precise delivery, enhance drug accumulation, and reduce side effects, but their clinical translation is hindered by challenges like protein corona formation, which can mask targeting ligands and impair functionality, and complex manufacturing processes. Here we develop galloylated liposomes (GA-lipo) by incorporating gallic acid-modified lipids into lipid bilayers, enabling the stable and controlled adsorption of targeting ligands through non-covalent physical interactions. This approach preserves ligand orientation and functionality, ensuring that binding sites remain exposed even in the presence of a protein corona.

The advent of large-scale sequencing in both development and disease has identified large numbers of candidate genes that may be linked to important phenotypes. We have developed a rapid, scalable system for assessing the role of candidate genes using zebrafish. We generated transgenic zebrafish in which Cas9 was knocked in to the endogenous locus, a master transcription factor of the melanocyte lineage.

Background: Schizophrenia is one of the most disruptive of neuropsychiatric disorders, affecting around 1% of the world's population. Antipsychotic medications have been the backbone of schizophrenia treatment for the past 50 years. Extrapyramidal side effects of antipsychotic medication are a major problem which is associated with various factors.

Objective: To systematically review the evidence on, to devise clinical recommendations for, and to identify critical knowledge gaps in resuscitation of newborn puppies and kittens.
Design: Standardized, systematic evaluation of literature pertinent to newborn resuscitation following Grading of Recommendations, Assessment, Development, and Evaluation (GRADE) methodology. Prioritized questions were reviewed by Evidence Evaluators, and findings were reconciled by Domain Chairs and Reassessment Campaign on Veterinary Resuscitation (RECOVER) Co-Chairs to arrive at treatment recommendations commensurate with the quality of evidence, risk-benefit relationship, and clinical feasibility.

Objective: Correct automatic analysis of a medical report requires the identification of negations and their scopes. Since most of available training data comes from medical texts in English, it usually takes additional work to apply to non-English languages. Here, we introduce a supervised learning method for automatically identifying and determining the scopes and negation cues in French medical reports using language models based on BERT.
