Triggered by formation of α-imino carbene, the regioselective synthesis of dihydropyrroles was achieved a cascade 1,3-sulfinate migration/annulation. The sulfinate group was converted into sulfone during the group migration, and a stable anion bearing two electron-withdrawing groups was thus formed. The addition of a catalytic amount of iodide is believed to assist the cleavage of the C-O bond, and the formation of a more stable carbocation. Thermodynamic product dihydropyrroles were produced efficiently rather than kinetic product cyclopropanes. This dual catalysis system would afford chemists a new strategy to control the annulation selectivity of zwitterions bearing multiple reactive sites and may be employed in flexible and divergent synthesis of different ring systems.

While the physiological and molecular responses of plants to viral infections are well documented, the progressive metabolic changes at different stages of the infection and their functional implications are still poorly understood. Therefore, this study investigates the dynamics of metabolic changes in papaya plants infected with Babaco Mosaic Virus (BabMV). We inoculated papaya plants with BabMV and collected leaf samples at 2, 10, 15, and 30 days post-inoculation (dpi).

Pyrroline-5-Carboxylate Reductase 1 (PYCR1), a member of the PYCR family, is a key enzyme in the proline biosynthesis pathway. Notably, PYCR1 was originally identified via genetic disease research, linking its mutations to the occurrence of cutis laxa. PYCR1 contributes to the pathogenesis of malignancies and fibrotic diseases via mechanisms involving metabolic reprogramming, Extracellular Matrix (ECM) remodelling, and redox homeostasis maintenance.

Fermentation plays a pivotal role in shaping the flavor and overall quality of Pu-erh tea, a microbially fermented dark tea. Here, we monitored physicochemical properties, chemical constituents, and microbial succession at 15 fermentation time points. Amplicon sequencing identified , , , , , , and as dominant genera, with prokaryotic communities showing greater richness and diversity than eukaryotic ones.

Muscle satellite cell (MuSC) proliferation is tightly regulated by redox homeostasis and nutrient availability, which are often disrupted in muscular pathologies. Beyond its role in maintaining cellular redox homeostasis, this study identified a key metabolic role for cystine/glutamate antiporter xCT in proliferating MuSCs. We investigated the impact of impaired xCT-mediated cystine import in Slc7a11 MuSCs isolated from mice that harbor a mutation in the SLC7A11 gene, which encodes xCT.

To establish a niraparib-resistant ovarian cancer cell line and preliminarily explore its biological characteristics and metabolic signatures. (1) Using ovarian adenocarcinoma cell line A2780 as parental cells, the niraparib-resistant cell line A2780-NiraR was established by the method of concentration gradient increased induction, and its morphological characteristics were observed using inverted phase-contrast microscope. The half-inhibitory concentration (IC) of niraparib was determined by cytotoxicity assay.
