Background: Evidence informing clinical guidelines assumes that all transcatheter aortic valve implantation (TAVI) devices have similar effectiveness, in other words, displaying a class effect across TAVI valves. We aimed to assess the comparative effectiveness of different TAVI platforms relative to other TAVI counterparts or surgical aortic valve replacement (SAVR).

Methods: MEDLINE/Embase/CENTRAL were searched from inception until April 2025, for randomized controlled trials comparing outcomes with different commercially available TAVI devices relative to other TAVI counterparts or SAVR.

Introduction: Etripamil is a fast-acting intranasally self-administered calcium-channel blocker developed for termination of paroxysmal supraventricular tachycardia (PSVT). Prior studies have demonstrated safety and efficacy of etripamil for PSVT termination following an initial medically supervised test dose during sinus rhythm. NODE-303 is an open-label, single-arm study that evaluated etripamil for multiple, at-home PSVT episodes, without test dose before first use.

Moderate Secondary Mitral Regurgitation: Evolving Evidence and Management Strategies.

J Am Coll Cardiol

September 2025

Institute of Cardiology, ASST Spedali Civili, Department of Medical and Surgical Specialties, Radiologic Sciences and Public Health, University of Brescia, Brescia, Italy. Electronic address:

Secondary mitral regurgitation (SMR) is common in patients with heart failure (HF). Although randomized clinical trials have been focused on the treatment of severe SMR, the prognostic role and potential for treatment of moderate SMR cannot be overlooked. The randomized RESHAPE-HF2 trial included patients with moderate and severe SMR with consistent findings in both groups, raising the hypothesis that transcatheter correction of moderate SMR could have beneficial effects, although this needs further investigation.

Objectives: This study aimed to analyse the number of myocardial infarction (MI) admissions during the COVID-19 lockdown periods of 2020 and 2021 (March 15th to June 15th) and compare them with corresponding pre-pandemic period in 2019. The study also evaluated changes in critical treatment intervals: onset to door (O2D), door to balloon (D2B) and door to needle (D2N) and assessed 30-day clinical outcomes. This study examined MI care trends in India during the COVID-19 lockdown period, irrespective of patients' COVID-19 infection status.

Background: Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a vital intervention for managing cardiac arrest; however, enhancing survival rates remains a significant challenge. Recent advancements highlight the importance of integrating artificial intelligence (AI) to overcome existing limitations in prediction, intervention, and post-resuscitation care.

Methods: A thorough review of contemporary literature regarding AI applications in CPR was undertaken, explicitly examining its role in the early prediction of cardiac arrest, optimization of CPR quality, and enhancement of post-arrest outcomes.
