Introduction: Speaking up about medical errors is a critical behaviour for medical students, as it plays a vital role in enhancing patient safety. Few studies have explored the drivers and barriers affecting their willingness to speak up in clinical training, particularly within hierarchical Asian cultures. The purpose of this study was to explore drivers and barriers shaping medical students' speaking up behaviours about medical errors to inform education, mentorship and patient safety practices.

A central paradigm in cardiac biology is the reactivation of the fetal gene programme in the adult heart in response to stress. This so-called 'fetal gene hypothesis' was first proposed almost 40 years ago following the observation that certain fetal contractile protein isoforms were re-expressed in hypertrophied ventricles in the rodent heart in response to haemodynamic overload. Consequently, this concept was broadly adopted, and activation of the fetal gene programme became synonymous in the literature with the cardiac stress response.

Foodborne outbreaks and recalls within the tree fruit industry are making producers re-evaluate appropriate cleaning and sanitation practices during harvesting. Without effective sanitation, bacteria can create niches and form biofilms. This study evaluated the efficacy of silver dihydrogen citrate (SDC) and chlorine dioxide (ClO) gas to control Escherichia coli and Listeria innocua on experimentally inoculated harvesting equipment at commercial apple packinghouses within the Midwest and Pacific Northwest regions.

Objective: The aim of this study is to re-evaluate the systematic reviews and meta-analyses on statins for the treatment of erectile dysfunction (ED) and construct an umbrella review, thereby providing robust evidence-based for the clinical application of statins in ED treatment.

Methods: A comprehensive computerized search was conducted across CNKI, Wanfang Database, VIP, WOS, Embase, PubMed, and Cochrane Library databases from their inception to September 12, 2024, for all systematic reviews and meta-analyses addressing statin interventions in ED. The methodological quality, reporting quality, and evidence quality of the included studies were assessed and summarized using PRISMA 2020, AMSTAR 2, and GRADE systems.

Deleuzo-Guattarian de-construction of the mind to re-evaluate undeath.

Theor Med Bioeth

September 2025

Department of Humanities and Social Sciences, National Institute of Technology Hamirpur, Hamirpur, India.

This article examines the cases of Jahi McMath and Poe's M. Valdemar to reconceptualize the idea of undeath from a Deleuzo-Guattarian perspective. It builds upon the ambiguity existing in defining a body in the state of 'brain death' after permanent loss of consciousness to analyze how the brain, as Deleuze and Guattari's 'partial object,' facilitates the construction of the mind as a transcendent entity.
