Purpose: While the incidence of acetabular fractures keeps rising among our older patient population, age-specific rehabilitation guidelines are lacking. Post-surgery weight-bearing is often restricted for 8-12 weeks to avoid secondary fixation failure. However, non- or restricted weight-bearing commonly results in atrophy, and older patients are at additional risk of long-term mobility and functionality loss.

Background: Percutaneous renal biopsy (PRB) provides valuable information to guide treatment decisions in patients with metastatic renal cell carcinoma (mRCC) who develop acute kidney injury (AKI) after systemic anticancer therapy (SACT). The rising incidence of renal cell carcinoma (RCC) and the substantial impact of SACT on overall survival suggest a higher prevalence of RCC patients with reduced nephron mass and a solitary kidney (SK) requiring PRB for AKI. However, safety data on SK biopsies are scarce, and the potential for dialysis-requiring complications may deter clinicians.

Background: In primary total hip arthroplasty (THA), the decision of performing an anterior-based or posterior approach is debatable and depends on surgeon comfort and experience, as well as patient-specific factors. Conversion THA (convTHA) presents unique challenges given the presence of implants and alteration of native anatomy. While convTHA has historically been performed through a posterior approach, there is renewed interest in anterior-based approaches given their rising popularity in primary THA.

Introduction/background: The rising demand for endovascular stroke therapy highlights the need for standardized training environments. Studies have shown the positive impact of simulator-based training for neurointerventional procedures. Given the frequent use of percutaneous transluminal angioplasty (PTA) of the internal carotid artery (ICA) in acute settings, specialized simulation training is crucial.

Kidney stones are the most common urological condition worldwide, with rising prevalence. Bilateral cases present challenges such as longer surgery, anesthesia risks, and extended hospitalization. We report a case of a 59-year-old female with bilateral hydronephrosis and multiple stones, successfully treated with bilateral synchronous percutaneous nephrolithotomy (PCNL) at a district-level hospital in Surakarta, Indonesia.
