Background: The present study aimed to assess the gait capacity of youths with Charcot Marie Tooth disease (CMT), considering the different foot postures as a grouping variable. METHODS: The total distance, the predicted distance, and gait velocity obtained during the six-minute walking test (6MWT) were compared between participants with and without CMT. In addition, part of the CMT group completed a 12-month follow-up. The study evaluated 63 participants (CMT group = 31; Non-CMT group = 32) aged 6 to 18, both sexes. Data included anthropometric measures, foot posture index (FPI), the distance (D6), percentage of predicted distance (%D6), and walking velocity(V) in 6MWT.
Results: The D6% presented no significant difference between the types of feet in CMT or Non-CMT (p < 0.05, Kruskal Wallis test). CMT presented reduced values of D6, %D6, and V when compared to Non-CMT.
Conclusions: These findings indicate that gait performance was decreased in youths with CMT in comparison to non-CMT. Contrary to what was expected, the cavus foot type did not show lower gait capacity than the flatfoot, suggesting that the types of feet alone did not determine differences in gait capacity within the CMT group.

Purpose: To evaluate the predictive value of the preoperative orientation and offset of angle alpha(chord alpha) and angle kappa(chord mu) for visual outcomes in patients who underwent trifocal intraocular lens (IOL) implantation.
Methods: Patient records of eyes that underwent AT LISA tri 839MP implantation were retrospectively collected and grouped according to the preoperative offset and orientations of chord alpha and chord mu. The two-dimensional location of each angle was described by the interaction of the orientation and offset.

Objective: There is a lack of research on how illness representations as represented in the Common Sense Self-Regulation Model (CS-SRM) emerge and develop. We aimed to describe the evolution of COVID-19 illness representations over time, and to explore associations with sociodemographic characteristics and protective behaviours.
Methods And Measures: This study (June 2020 release from lockdown to February 2021 after vaccine roll-out) used 17 independently recruited cross-sectional cohorts.

Background: In patients with moderate COPD, response to pulmonary rehabilitation including exercise training varies according to the presence of peripheral muscle fatigue (pMF) of quadriceps. This study investigates the role of pMF in predicting pulmonary rehabilitation outcomes in more severe COPD patients who have already developed chronic respiratory failure (COPD-CRF).
Methods: A analysis of a prospective randomised controlled trial was performed at Istituti Clinici Scientifici Maugeri Lumezzane (Brescia, Italy), involving 30 COPD-CRF patients undergoing a pulmonary rehabilitation programme comprising 20 endurance training sessions.

Peptide quantitative structure-activity relationship (pQSAR) has been widely used in the computational peptidology community to model, predict and explain the activity and function of bioactive peptides. Various amino acid descriptors (AADs) have been developed to characterize the residue building blocks of peptides at sequence level. However, a significant issue is that the total number of AAD-characterized descriptors is proportional to peptide length, thus causing inconsistency in the resulting descriptor vector matrix for a panel of length-varying peptide sequences (LVPSs), which cannot be engaged in pQSAR modelling.

In order to validate some assumptions and calculations of Johnson and Ettinger's model, a mapping of measured VOC fluxes in a heavily contaminated building was undertaken. To this end, both advective and diffusive flux measurements were carried out under real conditions. Diffusive fluxes were measured with flux chambers recording the initial concentration rise during the first minutes.
