Tumors that metastasize in the peritoneal cavity typically end up in the omental adipose tissue, a particularly immune-suppressive environment that includes specialized adipose-resident regulatory T cells (Treg). Tregs rapidly accumulate in the omentum after tumor implantation and potently suppress antitumor immunity. However, it is unclear whether these Tregs are recruited from the circulation or derived from preexisting adipose-resident Tregs by clonal expansion. Here we show that Tregs in tumor-bearing omenta predominantly have thymus-derived characteristics. Moreover, naïve tumor antigen-specific CD4+ T cells fail to differentiate into Tregs in tumor-bearing omenta. In fact, Tregs derived from the pretumor repertoire are sufficient to suppress antitumor immunity and promote tumor growth. However, tumor implantation in the omentum does not promote Treg clonal expansion, but instead leads to increased clonal diversity. Parabiosis experiments show that despite tissue-resident (noncirculating) characteristics of omental Tregs in naïve mice, tumor implantation promotes a rapid influx of circulating Tregs, many of which come from the spleen. Finally, we show that newly recruited Tregs rapidly acquire characteristics of adipose-resident Tregs in tumor-bearing omenta. These data demonstrate that most Tregs in omental tumors are recruited from the circulation and adapt to their environment by altering their homing, transcriptional, and metabolic properties.

This report presents the case of a 36-year-old man complaining of chronic low back pain and numbness along the posterolateral surface of the right leg. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed a disc degeneration and protrusion at the L-S level and an extensive fluid-equivalent formation with a craniocaudal dimension of 8 cm at the S-S level. Initially, due to the minimal clinical complaints, the cyst was considered asymptomatic.

Stakeholders in the breast implant industry in Korea have recently experienced a crisis from breast implant-associated anaplastic large cell lymphoma and the first Korean case of a medical device fraud. We compared the short-term safety between the microtextured devices that are commercially available after the occurrence of breast implant crisis in Korea. The current study was conducted in a cohort of Korean women who had received an implant-based augmentation mammaplasty for aesthetic purposes between November 14, 2020 and October 13, 2022.

Introduction: Three-dimensional printing (3DP) technology has increasingly gained attention in orthopedic oncology, where complex tumor resections and reconstructions demand high precision. 3DP enables the creation of patient-specific models and prostheses, which can improve postoperative quality of life for patients while assisting surgeons in preoperative planning, enhancing surgical accuracy, and improving outcomes in complex oncologic cases. Background: Guided bone regeneration (GBR) relies on biocompatible membranes to support osteogenesis. 1,4-butanediol diglycidyl ether (BDDE)-crosslinked hyaluronic acid (xHyA) has shown promise in enhancing bone regeneration, yet its mechanisms remain unclear.
Objective: This study evaluates the osteogenic effects of xHyA-functionalized native pericardium collagen membrane (NPCM) and ribose-crosslinked collagen membrane (RCCM) using an airlift culture model with SaOS-2 cells.
