The exploration of certain microbial resources such as beneficial endophytic microorganisms is considered a promising strategy for the discovery of new antimicrobial compounds for the pharmaceutical industries and agriculture. Thirty-one endophytic bacterial strains affiliated with , , , , , and were previously isolated from vetiver ( (L.) Roberty) roots. These endophytes showed antifungal activity against and could be a source of antimicrobial metabolites. In this study, in particular, using high-throughput screening, we analyzed their antagonistic activities and those of their cell-free culture supernatants against three species of plant pathogens, a bacterial strain of , and a yeast strain of , as well as their capacity to produce lipopeptides. The results showed that the culture supernatants of four strains close to species exhibited antimicrobial activities against species and . Using mass spectrometry analyses, we identified two groups of lipopeptides (surfactins and plipastatins) in their culture supernatants. Whole-genome sequencing confirmed that these bacteria possess NRPS gene clusters for surfactin and plipastatin. In vitro tests confirmed the inhibitory effect of plipastatin alone or in combination with surfactin against the three species.

Objectives: To investigate the effect of avitinib for suppressing NLRP3 inflammasome activation and alleviating septic shock and explore the underlying mechanism.
Methods: Mouse bone marrow-derived macrophages (BMDM), human monocytic leukemia cell line THP-1, and peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMC) isolated from healthy volunteers were pre-treated with avitinib, followed by activation of the canonical NLRP3 inflammasome using agonists including nigericin, monosodium urate (MSU) crystals, or adenosine triphosphate (ATP). Non-canonical NLRP3 inflammasome activation was induced intracellular transfection of lipopolysaccharide (LPS).

The genus Alternaria comprises a wide range of ubiquitous plant pathogens that affect various host plants. Certain mycoviruses can induce changes in the biological characteristics and virulence of host fungi, offering potential for biocontrol in managing fungal plant diseases. Here, we identified a mycovirus with a high degree of homology to Alternaria arborescens victorivirus 1 (AaVV1), which was previously reported from Alternaria arborescens, in the QRH strain of the heterologous host Alternaria gomphrenae.

The aim of the study was to assess the effect of lyophilized cell-free supernatant (CFS) obtained from Lacticaseibacillus paracasei B1 and Lactiplantibacillus plantarum O24 cultures on the characteristics of cooked pork sausages stored by 21 days at 4 °C. The following parameters were assessed: antioxidant activity (ABTS, Reducing Power, Fe-chelating activity), texture parameters (hardness, springiness, gumminess, chewiness) and color changes (L*,a*,b*), as well as the fatty acid profile and TBARS content as an indicator of lipid oxidation. Microbiological status was also assessed.

Ureaplasma diversum infects cattle and plays a significant role in economic losses in the livestock sector, as it is associated with the development of reproductive and respiratory disorders in these animals. Studies have suggested that membrane-associated lipoproteins (LAMPs) are closely linked to the pathogenicity of these bacteria. Thus, this study aimed to express the lipoprotein GUDIV-517 from U.

Pseudoplacentational endometrial hyperplasia (PEH) is a common uterine lesion in dogs. A high frequency of pyometra has been associated with PEH in dogs, suggesting that PEH might be related to the pathogenesis of pyometra. This study aimed to assess transcription levels and expression of Toll like receptors (TLR) 1, 2 and 4; alpha estrogen receptors (ESR1), progesterone receptors (PR) and prolactin receptors (PRLR) in uteri with PEH.
