Importance: Emerging evidence suggests that glucagon-like peptide-1 receptor agonists (GLP-1RAs), commonly used for glycemic control in diabetes, may possess anti-inflammatory properties. Understanding their potential protective role against uveitis could provide insights into novel therapeutic strategies.

Objective: To evaluate whether being prescribed a GLP-1RA is associated with a reduced risk of developing uveitis.

Background And Hypothesis: Anti-neutrophil cytoplasmic antibody (ANCA) associated vasculitis (AAV) is a major cause of glomerulonephritis (GN) and kidney failure and current therapies are often limited by significant toxicity and limitations. Regulatory T cells (Tregs) play a cruical role in maintaining immune tolerance, and their dysfunction has been implicated in AAV pathogenesis. Low dose interleukin-2 (IL-2) has emerged as a promising strategy to selectively expand Tregs and restore immune balance in several autoimmune diseases.

Steroid-induced pancreatitis (SIP) is a relatively uncommon diagnosis, as the main function of glucocorticoids is to decrease cellular inflammation and modulate the immune system. It is a diagnosis of exclusion with a multifactorial pathophysiology and can occur in the setting of treatment with steroids for various underlying conditions. While difficult to diagnose, it can cause patients great discomfort and lead to several complications if missed or treated inappropriately.

Purpose: To report a case of a patient diagnosed with arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy, who was later diagnosed with a severe form of Takayasu arteritis (TA).

Case Report: A 34-year-old lady presented with a sudden, painful loss of vision in the left eye for four months associated with headache and jaw claudication. Ocular examination revealed features suggestive of arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy and microaneurysms scattered throughout the fundus in both eyes, consistent with Takayasu retinopathy.
