"Common habits develop into rare syndromes." This idiom holds true when one such colorful rubber band put on the wrist of a child gets forgotten, burrows through the skin, and presents with a swollen paralyzed hand with a circumferential scar on the wrist. We present two cases of rubber band syndrome (Dhaga syndrome) who presented with painful, swollen, complete claw hand. Until 2019, only 15 cases were reported with predominance of Indian children. MRI is the gold standard investigation where a high degree of clinical suspicion is diagnostic. Surgical exploration with removal of the constricting band and excision of neuroma in continuity of ulnar and median nerves for preventing neurological deficit and tenolysis of tendons depending on the depth of the band is unambiguous treatment of choice. Where history is not forthcoming, a circumferential scar on the wrist of a child demands exploration.

Objectives: Limited-cutaneous systemic sclerosis (lcSSc), formerly known as CREST syndrome (calcinosis, Raynaud phenomenon, esophageal dysmotility, scleroderma, and telangiectasias) is an auto-immune connective tissue disease characterized by cutaneous fibrosis and systemic fibrovascular dysfunction. The cutaneous fibrosis of lcSSc is commonly limited to acral sites, with perioral involvement seen in 70%-85% of cases. Patients often seek treatment of lcSSc-associated microstomia for functional and cosmetic purposes.

Background And Aim: Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a widely prevalent disease that severely influences patients' quality of life and is a known risk factor for esophageal adenoma and carcinoma. Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) is a tissue resection technique that involves circumferential en bloc resection of the mucosa that surrounds the tumor followed by dissection of the esophagogastric junction (EGJ) submucosa under the lesion. After mucosal resection, the mucosal healing results in scar formation, which in turn results in shrinkage and remodeling of gastric cardia flap valve, thereby theoretically reducing reflux events.

Cardiac magnetic resonance (CMR) imaging provides significant advantages in the non-invasive diagnosis of cardiac diseases. An emerging phenotype is increasingly being described in CMR reports, the LGE "ring-like" pattern, which resembles a circumferential/semi-circumferential LV scar. Different conditions exhibit this fibrosis distribution, the majority of them being genetically determined and mostly involving cardiomyopathy-causative genes (desmosomal but also other non-desmosomal related genes).

The accuracy of prevalent risk models recommended by American Heart Association/American College of Cardiology(AHA/ACC) and European Society of Cardiology(ESC) for hypertrophic cardiomyopathy(HCM) patients is suboptimal. We assessed the utility of cardiac magnetic resonance(CMR)-3D left ventricular mechanical dispersion(LVMD) in the prognostic stratification of 159 HCM and explore the correlation with myocardial fibrosis heterogeneity. Entropy demonstrated linear correlations with 3D LVMD.

Background And Objective: Our aim was to investigate outcomes of a novel robotic transvesical approach for bladder neck reconstruction in the surgical management of vesicourethral anastomotic stenosis (VUAS).
Methods: We performed a retrospective review of our single-institution database of robotic bladder neck reconstruction procedures to identify all consecutive patients who underwent robotic transvesical bladder neck reconstruction (RTV-BNR) for definitive management of VUAS between 2021 and 2024. The surgical technique involves circumferential excision of fibrotic scar tissue and creation of a mucosa-to-mucosa, watertight, tension-free anastomosis between the bladder neck mucosa and posterior urethra via a posterior transvesical approach.
