Bone tissue can be involved by primitive or metastatic tumors and requires a specific processing both at the department of pathology and during multidisciplinary meetings. The development of fine-needle percutaneous biopsies and of molecular techniques in bone tumor pathology requires a specific management. Moreover, decalcification of samples is crucial but can be deleterious if not controlled or not appropriate. The aim of this review is to provide recommendations for management and decalcification of bone tumor samples.

Osteoporotic hip fractures are a considerable cause of pain and disability particularly among the elderly. Osteoporosis causes loss of bone stability, which in turn leads to an increased risk of fractures especially in metaphyseal bone. Moreover, the body's capacity for healing is diminished, resulting in prolonged recovery times following these fractures.

The wrist extends anatomically and functionally from the distal forearm to the metacarpal bones and encompasses the entire carpal region. The large number of bones and joints involved are stabilized in a highly complex system of extrinsic and intrinsic ligaments, which enables a variety of different movements and stability in all positions for the best possible use of the hands. While injuries to individual ligaments or joints, most commonly the scapholunate (SL) ligament, can cause major problems the injuries associated with perilunate dislocations and dislocated fractures represent one of the greatest challenges in hand surgery.

Purpose: Polymorphous adenocarcinoma of the salivary gland is characterized by cellular uniformity associated with a variety of morphological growth patterns, a fact that makes its diagnosis challenging. Therefore, the identification of genetic alterations and signaling pathways emerges as a tool for elucidation of the pathogenesis of this tumor and accurate differential diagnosis. The aim of this study was to assess mutations in the PRKD1 gene and in protein components of the HH pathway (SHH, IHH, SMO, and GLI-1) in cases of polymorphous adenocarcinoma of the salivary gland.

Statement Of Problem: Although custom temporomandibular joint (TMJ) prostheses manufactured via computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD-CAM) and produced through 3-dimensional (3D) printing or computer numerical control (CNC) allow for sagittal curvature adjustments in the glenoid fossa, their design remains unregulated by the Food and Drug Administration. Consequently, the geometry is determined largely by the engineer's discretion, with limited biomechanical evidence to guide these decisions. The lack of validation regarding how sagittal curvature influences joint stress distribution under various anatomical and functional conditions represents a gap in current knowledge that warrants investigation.
