Case: A 32-year-old woman presented with worsening right anterior hip pain, reduced hip flexion strength, and passive range of motion during hip flexion. Magnetic resonance imaging of the hip demonstrated a prominent lesser trochanter and localized fluid signal intensity at the iliopsoas bursa. The patient underwent endoscopic iliopsoas bursectomy and lesser trochanterplasty, reporting improvement in all clinical outcome scores at 1-year follow-up.
Conclusion: Lesser trochanter morphology should be evaluated in patients presenting with iliopsoas bursitis. In patients failing to respond to conservative management, endoscopic iliopsoas bursectomy and lesser trochanterplasty may address pain and functional limitations.

Purpose: To build upon previous literature to identify a complete analysis of cellular contents of subacromial bursal tissue as well as the matrix surrounding the rotator cuff.
Methods: Samples of subacromial bursal tissue and surrounding matrix milieu from above the rotator cuff tendon and above the rotator cuff muscle bellies were obtained from 10 patients undergoing arthroscopic rotator cuff repair. Samples were analyzed using fluorescent-activated cell sorting and histologic analysis with staining protocols (Oil Red O, Alcian Blue, and Picro-Sirius Red), for identification of matrix components, including fat, proteoglycans, and collagen.

As ovarian cancer commonly involves the visceral organs without boundary, more aggressive procedures are adopted during cytoreductive surgery. One of the most difficult aspect of the operation involves the procedure for the gall bladder, porta hepatis, and omental bursa. As the upper abdominal surgical field is not familiar to the gynecologic surgeon, and the vital organs or vessels are densely positioned, these procedures can be challenging for achieving the optimal cytoreductive surgery.

Background: Bursectomy is regarded as a standard surgical procedure during gastrectomy for serosa-positive gastric cancer in Japanese gastric cancer treatment guidelines (Japanese Gastric Cancer Association in Gastric Cancer 14:113-123, 2011). As a consequence, bursectomy is widely performed in open gastrectomy. However, laparoscopic gastrectomy with bursectomy is rare.
