Background: Hypertension is the most prevalent reversible risk for cardiovascular morbidity and mortality. Blood pressure (BP) control is poor nationally and varies by race/ethnicity, and there is minimal understanding of the impact of country of origin.
Objective: To examine racial/ethnic disparities in BP control among high-risk patients and among Latino patients disaggregated by country of origin.

Peripheral arterial disease (PAD) is a prevalent and debilitating condition in elderly patients, often leading to critical limb threatening ischemia (CLTI) and major amputations. While endovascular interventions are usually preferred for their lower perioperative risk, open surgical revascularization should also be considered due to its durability and superior patency in complex disease patterns. Age alone does not determine suitability for surgery; rather, candidacy hinges on frailty, functional status, comorbidities, and anatomical considerations.

Deciphering the source of an embolism is a common challenge encountered in stroke treatment. Carotid stenosis is a key source of embolic strokes. Carotid interventions can be indicated when a patient has greater than 50% stenosis in the carotid ipsilateral to the cerebral infarction, which is designated as the symptomatic carotid.

The study objective was to evaluate the feasibility of assessing and implementing patient-tailored interventions to reduce loneliness among elderly patients in the Cardiac Intensive Care Unit (CICU). Methods This randomized control trial conducted at the CICU included 58 patients, 28 patients were in control and 30 in the intervention groups.
