Pesticides can induce changes in behavior and reduce the survival chance of aquatic organisms. In this study, the toxic effects of glyphosate suspension (Glyphosate Aria 41% SL, Tehran Iran) on behavior and tissues of common carp () were assessed. For this purpose, a 96 h LC of glyphosate suspension (68.788 mL·L) was used in the toxicity test. All individuals were divided into control and treatment groups with four replicates. Exposure operations were performed under two conditions: increasing concentration of suspension from 0 to 68.788 mL·L; then, decreasing to the first level. The swimming pattern was recorded by digital cameras during the test and tissue samples were collected at the end of the test. There were significant differences between the swimming pattern of treated individuals and control ones during both steps. The sublethal concentration of glyphosate led to hypertrophy, hyperplasia and hyperemia in the gill of fish. However, changes were obvious only after sampling. The exposed fish also displayed clinical signs such as darkening of the skin and increasing movement of the operculum. Moreover, glyphosate suspension affected swimming patterns of fish suggest that the swimming behavior test can indicate the potential toxicity of environmental pollutants and be used as a noninvasive, useful method for managing environmental changes and assessing fish health conditions by video monitoring.

Aromatic amino acid homeostasis was investigated in cell suspension cultures of and was related to the activity of the first enzyme in aromatic biosynthesis, 3-deoxy-D--heptulosonate-7-phosphate (DAHP) synthase. An inverse relationship was found between the intracellular content of free phenylalanine, tyrosine and tryptophan and enzyme specific activity levels, suggesting the occurrence of end-product control mechanisms. Two DAHP synthase isogenes are present in wild tobacco that showed a different expression pattern during the culture growth cycle.

Nano- and micron-sized catalysts are continuously being discovered as efficient tools for pollutant oxidation. Their small size motivates their entrapment in beads or capsules for easier handling, but this is normally followed by reduced reaction kinetics due to slower mass transfer within the encapsulation matrix. In this study, liquid-core encapsulation was explored as a way to overcome this limitation.

In this work, molecular imprinting was combined with direct fluorescence detection of the pesticide Glyphosate (GPS). Firstly, the solubility of highly polar GPS in organic solvents was improved by using lipophilic tetrabutylammonium (TBA) and tetrahexylammonium (THA) counterions. Secondly, to achieve fluorescence detection, a fluorescent crosslinker containing urea-binding motifs was used as a probe for GPS-TBA and GPS-THA salts in chloroform, generating stable complexes through hydrogen bond formation.

Expansion of dicamba-resistant crops increased the frequency of off-target movement issues, especially in the midsouthern United States. Six field trials were conducted over two growing seasons with the purpose to determine the contribution of volatilization and physical suspension of particles to the off-target movement of dicamba when applied with glyphosate and imazethapyr - a non-volatile herbicide used as a tracer for physical off-target movement. Applications included dicamba at 560 g ha, glyphosate at 1260 g ha, and imazethapyr at 105 g ha.

Glyphosate is the most frequently used herbicide worldwide and its application is under discussion due to health concerns. As humans may be exposed to glyphosate, the present study investigated the metabolism of glyphosate by the human fecal microbiota in vitro.
