Article Abstract

Hyperspectral imaging is an area of active research with many applications in remote sensing, mineral exploration, and environmental monitoring. Deep learning and, in particular, convolution-based approaches are the current state-of-the-art classification models. However, in the presence of noisy hyperspectral datasets, these deep convolutional neural networks underperform. In this paper, we proposed a feature augmentation approach to increase noise resistance in imbalanced hyperspectral classification. Our method calculates context-based features, and it uses a deep convolutional neuronet (DCN). We tested our proposed approach on the Pavia datasets and compared three models, DCN, PCA + DCN, and our context-based DCN, using the original datasets and the datasets plus noise. Our experimental results show that DCN and PCA + DCN perform well on the original datasets but not on the noisy datasets. Our robust context-based DCN was able to outperform others in the presence of noise and was able to maintain a comparable classification accuracy on clean hyperspectral images.

Scene context is known to significantly influence visual perception, enhancing object recognition particularly under challenging viewing conditions. Behavioral and neuroimaging studies suggest that high-level scene information modulates activity in object-selective brain areas through top-down mechanisms, yet the underlying mechanism of this process remains unclear. Here, we introduce a biologically inspired context-based computational model (CBM) that integrates scene context into object recognition via an explicit feedback mechanism.

Learned regularities about contextual associations between objects and scenes allow us to form predictions about the likely features of the environment, facilitating perception of noisy visual inputs. Studies have shown that blurred objects that can be predicted based on their scene context appear subjectively sharper than the same objects that cannot. Experiment 1 addressed whether this effect could be modulated by the robustness of context-based predictions.

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate and compare the performance of several large language models (LLMs) in the context of restorative dentistry and endodontics, focusing on their accuracy, consistency, and contextual understanding.

Methods: The dataset was extracted from the national educational archives of the Collège National des Enseignants en Odontologie Conservatrice (CNEOC) and includes all chapters from the reference manual for dental residency applicants. Multiple-choice questions (MCQs) were selected following a review by three independent academic experts.

The proposed framework optimizes Explainable AI parameters, combining Predator crow search optimization to refine the predictive model's performance. To prevent overfitting and enhance feature selection, an information acquisition-based technique is introduced, improving the model's robustness and reliability. An enhanced U-Net model employing context-based partitioning is proposed for precise and automatic left ventricular segmentation, facilitating quantitative assessment.
