Background: Laboratory animal veterinarians play a crucial role as a bridge between the ethical use of laboratory animals and the advancement of scientific and medical knowledge in biomedical research. They alleviate pain and reduce distress through veterinary care of laboratory animals. Additionally, they enhance animal welfare by creating environments that mimic natural habitats through environmental enrichment and social associations.

"To love, to create, to express, to live"- a typology of aging poems by older men.

J Aging Stud

September 2025

Louis and Gabi Weisfeld School of Social Work, Bar Ilan University, Ramat Gan, Israel. Electronic address:

Poetry writing can serve as a means for personal expression of feelings, thoughts, and attitudes toward various subjects, as well as for a deeper understanding of lived experiences and identity. The present study examined the aging experiences of men over the age of 70 (N = 15), living in a continuing care retirement community in Israel, as reflected in the poems they wrote. The poems were analyzed using latent content analysis, resulting in a typology of three types of poems: a) Preparation for end-of-life poems, b) Positive aging poems, and c) Nostalgic poems.

Fluorinated Imidazolidinium Cations as a Fluorine-Lean Interface Repairing Agent for Li-Metal Batteries.

ACS Appl Mater Interfaces

Department of Chemistry and Shanghai Key Laboratory of Molecular Catalysis and Innovative Materials, Institute of New Energy, iChEM (Collaborative Innovation Center of Chemistry for Energy Materials), Fudan University, Shanghai 200433, China.

Li-metal batteries promise ultrahigh energy density, but their application is limited by Li-dendrite growth. Theoretically, fluorine-containing anions such as bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide (FSI) in electrolytes can be reduced to form LiF-rich solid-electrolyte interphases (SEIs) with high Young's modulus and ionic conductivity that can suppress dendrites. However, the anions migrate toward the cathode during the charging process, accompanied by a decrease in the concentration of interfacial anions near the anode surface.

[Challenges in Rehabilitation of People with Cognitive and/or Multiple Impairments: Insights from a Pilot Study].

Gesundheitswesen

September 2025

Klinik für Rehabilitations- und Sportmedizin, Medizinische Hochschule Hannover, Hannover, Deutschland.

The study addresses the gap in rehabilitation care of people with cognitive and/or multiple Impairments. Conventional medical care structures are often insufficiently adapted to the needs of this patient group. In this project, the rehabilitative care gap is practically closed with a social space-oriented rehabilitation concept for people with cognitive and/or multiple Impairments and to create sustainable solutions.

Analysis of the toxicity and mechanisms of osteoporosis caused by cigarette toxicants using network toxicology and molecular docking techniques.

Sci Total Environ

September 2025

Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, The Affiliated Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital, Southwest Medical University, Luzhou, Sichuan Province, China. Electronic address:

The objective of this research was to use a network toxicology approach to examine the possible toxicity of the cigarette toxicants nicotine and coal tar that cause osteoporosis (OP) as well as its molecular processes. We determined the primary chemical structures and 128 targets of action of tar and nicotine using the Swiss Target Prediction, NP-MRD, and PubChem databases. We discovered that genes including DNAJB1, CCDC8, LINC00888, ATP6V1G1, MPV17L2, PPCS, and TACC1 had a disease prognostic guiding value by LASSO analysis and differential analysis of GEO microarray data.
