Background: We aimed to document childhood onset mevalonate kinase deficiency (MKD) and to explore treatment responses and diagnostic challenges in regions endemic to familial Mediterranean fever (FMF).
Methods: This retrospective study included patients under 18 years of age, diagnosed with MKD and followed for at least six months at the pediatric rheumatology department of Istanbul University - Cerrahpaşa Medical Faculty between 2016 and 2024.

Backround: Leukemia is the most common childhood malignancy and often presents with nonspecific symptoms, which may lead to delays in diagnosis. Early recognition of clinical signs and laboratory abnormalities is essential to ensure timely referral and improve outcomes. This study assesses the clinical and laboratory characteristics of pediatric patients with acute and relapsed leukemia, points out key considerations during diagnosis, and investigates potential factors contributing to delayed diagnosis.

Background: Long-term outcomes of transcatheter mitral valve edge-to-edge repair (TEER) are compared with medical therapy remain under investigation. This study evaluated the 3-year effects of MitraClip on mitral regurgitation (MR) severity, ventricular remodeling, and clinical outcomes in high surgical-risk patients.
Methods: A single-center retrospective cohort included 31 MitraClip patients (2016-2023) and 30 contemporaneous controls on maximally tolerated guideline-directed medical therapy.

Objectives: The European Society of Medical Oncology supports the use of surgery with adjuvant radiotherapy in resectable Masaoka-Koga Stage IV thymomas. We explore the role of extended pleurectomy decortication (EPD) and extrapleural pneumonectomy (EPP) in the management of patients with Masaoka-Koga stage IV thymic tumors with pleural involvement from our single-center experience.
Methods: We conducted a retrospective analysis of patients who had undergone extended resections over a 10-year period for Masaoka-Koga stage IV thymomas at our thoracic unit in the United Kingdom.

Objective: To evaluate the early postoperative morbidity, mortality, and prosthetic conduit function of patients who underwent aortic root replacement using a prefabricated bioprosthetic aortic valved conduit.
Methods: Single-center retrospective review of 124 consecutive adult patients who underwent aortic root replacement with a certified prefabricated bioprosthetic aortic valved conduit from 2021 to December 2023.
Results: Indications for operation were aortic aneurysms (n = 92), endocarditis (n = 12), deterioration of prior valve prosthesis (n = 13), and aortic dissection (n = 6).
