Aim: The aim of the study was to compare the canal transportation, centering ability, and dentin removal of Profit S3 (PS3), One Curve (OC), and ProTaper Gold (PTG) systems using cone-beam computed tomography (CBCT).
Materials And Methods: Thirty extracted human single-rooted premolars were used in the present study. Preinstrumentation scanning of all the teeth in arch form was taken using CBCT. To increase standardization, crowns were removed and only teeth measuring 16 mm were included in the study. The samples were randomly divided into three groups, with ten samples in each group; Group I was instrumented with PS3, Group II was instrumented with OC, and Group III - PTG. Postinstrumentation scans were performed, and the two scans were compared to determine canal transportation, centering ability, and dentin removal at 3, 6, and 9 mm, from the apex.
Statistical Analysis: One-way-ANOVA and the independent -test were done for the pairwise comparison. The significance level was set at = 0.05; statistical analysis was performed with SPSS statistics version 20.0 (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, USA).
Results: The mean canal centering ratio and canal apical transportation for PS3, OC and PTG show no statistical difference ( > 0.05). The mean value of dentin removal showed a statistically significant difference between the three groups ( < 0.05). PS3 and OC rotary file showed less removal of dentin compared to PTG ( < 0.00).
Conclusion: It was evident that PS3, OC, and PTG had no statistically significant difference when analyzed based on canal transportation and canal centering ratio. However, there was a significant difference among the three groups comparing the removal of dentin. PS3 and OC rotary file showed less removal of dentin compared to PTG.

While mercury (Hg) concentration and isotope analyses play pivotal roles in understanding contamination levels and Hg sources, complex hydrodynamics often obscure Hg transport pathways from source to sink. We applied hydrodynamic modeling with Hg stable isotopes to unravel source-specific contamination processes and propose effective management strategies in an estuarine system (Yeongil Bay) impacted by Hg-contaminated riverine input (Hyeongsan River) in Korea. Sediment isotope data revealed contributions of three sources: legacy Hg from the river, regional background Hg, and atmospheric Hg sources.

Genome-wide association studies (GWAS) have contributed significantly to unraveling the genetic bases of complex diseases such as Parkinson's disease (PD); yet experimental evidence for causation is often elusive. Here, we hypothesized that non-manifesting carriers of a PD-causing mutation in the gene could express genetic modifiers conferring disease protection. Using a pluripotent stem cell-based model, we showed that dopaminergic neurons derived from these individuals were partially protected from the disease in vitro, and that this protective effect is genetically driven.

Cerebrospinal Fluid-contacting neurons (CSF-cNs) are GABAergic bipolar neurons found, in contact with the cerebrospinal fluid, along the vertebrate medullo-spinal central canal. They express Polycystin Kidney Disease 2-Like 1 channels (PKD2L1), members of the Transient Receptor Potential superfamily, and were shown to modulate motor activity and therefore suggested to act as a novel sensory system. However, in mice, they remain largely uncharacterized and it is crucial to comprehensively characterize their morphological and electrophysiological properties to determine whether they form a homogenous neuronal population and understand their role in the CNS.
