Objective: It is important to raise awareness of the nutritional problems that can be overlooked during the follow-up visits with children who suffer from neuromuscular diseases, as these dietary differences may lead to additional neurological and systemic problems and impair the quality of life of the patient. The aim of this study was to evaluate the nutritional status of children with neuromuscular disorders and to prevent possible complications by recognizing possible nutritional problems in advance.

Methods: Patients who applied to the outpatient clinic at Cukurova University, Faculty of Medicine, Department of Pediatric Neurology beginning in April 2022 with a neuromuscular disorder diagnosis were followed up with and were included in the study.

Skin-adaptive focused flexible micromachined ultrasound transducers for wearable cardiovascular health monitoring.

Sci Adv

Continuous monitoring of cardiovascular vital signs can reduce the incidence and mortality of cardiovascular diseases, yet cannot be implemented by current technologies because of device bulkiness and rigidity. Here, we report self-adhesive and skin-conformal ultrasonic transducer arrays that enable wearable monitoring of multiple hemodynamic parameters without interfering with daily activities. A skin-adaptive focused ultrasound method with rational array design is proposed to implement measurement under wide ranges of skin curvatures and depths with improved sensing performances.

Managing diabetes in older adults requires balancing long-term glycaemic control with the prevention of hypoglycaemia, to which this population is particularly vulnerable owing to frailty, multimorbidity and cognitive decline. Guidelines recommend individualized glucose targets for older adults, particularly those with multimorbidity or increased hypoglycaemia risk. For individuals with frailty or cognitive impairment, relaxed HbA1c targets are often appropriate to reduce the risk of adverse events.

Introduction: Long-term cardiac monitoring has become more accessible with the advent of consumer-oriented wearable devices. Smartwatches (SWs) hold promise for extended rhythm monitoring owing to their availability and direct electronic health record (EHR) integration. We studied the clinical consequences of SW implementation in patients with palpitations.
