: Predictive diagnostics play an increasingly important role in personalized medicine for cancer treatment. Whole-genome sequencing (WGS)-based treatment selection is expected to rapidly increase worldwide. This study aimed to calculate and compare the total cost of currently used diagnostic techniques and of WGS in treatment of non-small cell lung carcinoma (NSCLC), melanoma, colorectal cancer (CRC), and gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) in the Netherlands.: The activity-based costing (ABC) method was conducted to calculate total cost of included diagnostic techniques based on data provided by Dutch pathology laboratories and the Dutch-centralized cancer WGS facility. Costs were allocated to four categories: capital costs, maintenance costs, software costs, and operational costs.: The total cost per cancer patient per technique varied from € 58 (Sanger sequencing, three amplicons) to € 2925 (paired tumor-normal WGS). The operational costs accounted for the vast majority (over 90%) of the total per cancer patient technique costs.: This study outlined in detail all costing aspects and cost prices of current and new diagnostic modalities used in treatment of NSCLC, melanoma, CRC, and GIST in the Netherlands. Detailed cost differences and value comparisons between these diagnostic techniques enable future economic evaluations to support decision-making.

Background: Hypertensive disorders of pregnancy (HDP) affect up to 10% of pregnancies and can have adverse short and long-term implications for women and their babies. eHealth interventions include any health service or treatment delivered using the internet and related technology that aims to facilitate, capture, or exchange knowledge. eHealth interventions are increasingly used across many health care settings with improved outcomes.

Azo dyes, prevalent in various industries, including textile dyeing, food, and cosmetics, pose significant environmental and health risks due to their chemical stability and toxicity. This study introduces the synthesis and application of a copper hydrogen-π-bonded benzoate framework (Cu-HBF) and its derived marigold flower-like copper oxide (MFL-CuO) in a synergetic adsorption-photocatalytic process for efficiently removing cationic azo dyes from water, specifically crystal violet (CV), methylene blue (MB), and rhodamine B (RhB). The Cu-HBF, previously available only in single crystal form, is prepared here as a crystalline powder for the first time, using a low-cost and facile procedure, allowing its application as an adsorbent and also serving as a precursor for synthesizing well-structured copper oxide (MFL-CuO).

Objective: Systematize the methodological decisions adopted in the budget impact analyses of the recommendation reports of the National Commission for the Incorporation of Technologies into the Unified Health System (Conitec) regarding drugs incorporated into the SUS (Brazilian Unified Health System) in the period from 2012 to 2024.
Methods: This is an exploratory, descriptive, retrospective study, based on document analysis of Conitec's technical recommendation reports with decisions on the incorporation of drugs published up to 2024. Information from the Budget Impact Analyses (BIA) was extracted and presented in terms of percentage, median and interquartile range.

Background: Luminal instruments are characterized by their slender internal lumens, which make them particularly challenging to clean and dry. A common drying method used by Sterile Processing Department (SPD) technicians involves blowing high-pressure air into one end of the lumen to expel moisture. However, this process generates a significant amount of aerosols that may contain bacteria, viruses, and other microorganisms.

Background: Many young people fail to achieve the minimum recommended amount of physical activity to benefit their health. Understanding the nature of age-related changes in behaviour and how this varies for population sub-groups is informative for intervention design. The aim of this study was to describe age-related changes in physical activity and sedentary time and examine variability in patterns of change across demographic sub-groups.
