Background: Chronic kidney disease represents an immunocompromising condition and a cause of a lower vaccine efficacy, even in patients undergoing maintenance dialysis. Recent SARS-CoV-2 outbreaks have prompted clinicians to better understand the underlying mechanisms and establish more suitable vaccination schedules.
Methods: In a single-center, retrospective, observational study of patients undergoing maintenance dialysis in France, we studied the factors associated with the intensity of the humoral response to a SARS-CoV-2 vaccine in this population, including specific dialysis-related variables.

The in-house ELISA SARS-CoV-2 serological assay, developed by the Armauer Hansen Research Institute (AHRI) in Ethiopia, measures anti-SARS-CoV-2 receptor binding domain (RBD) antibodies. This study aimed to compare the performance of our cost-effective in-house ELISA with two established commercially available SARS-CoV-2 antibody detection assays during the pre-Omicron COVID-19 pandemic. In April 2021, serum samples were collected from 1441 students across 60 schools in Oromia, from 15 hotspot districts and towns.

The COVID-19 pandemic remains an ongoing global health threat, yet effective treatments are still lacking. This has led to a high demand for complementary/alternative medicine, such as Chinese herbal medicines for curbing the COVID-19 pandemic. Given the dual anticancer and antiviral activities of many herbal drugs, they may hold a multifaceted potential to tackle both cancer and SARS-CoV-2.

Thousands of articles were published about the COVID-19 disease and hundreds about the immune response. But still little is known about the features of SARS-CoV-2-specific immunity in elderly. The aim of current research was to evaluate the age-related peculiarities of antibody mediated humoral immune response following SARS-CoV-2 infection.

Background: Despite scientific breakthroughs in vaccine development, some people remain reluctant to accept the anti-SARS-CoV-2 vaccine. This study evaluates attitudes and behaviours towards the vaccine and factors associated with refusal/hesitancy at the start of Italy's vaccination campaign.
Methods: EPICOVID19 is a two-phase observational web-based study where adult volunteers completed questionnaires in April-June 2020 and January-February 2021.
