Angiolipoma is a benign fatty neoplasm that has components of proliferating blood vessels. These types of lesions commonly occur in the subcutaneous tissue of the limbs and trunk. Angiolipoma in the gastrointestinal tract is extremely rare, and the final diagnosis generally depends on histological examination of the excised biopsy. In most previously reported cases, the lesions were diagnosed and treated with surgical management. In this study, we report a case of gastric angiolipoma of approximately 4 cm in size that was diagnosed and treated with endoscopic submucosal dissection.

Gastric angiolipomas (GA) are rare benign tumors that can present with gastrointestinal bleeding and anemia. We describe a 73-year-old woman who presented with a 3-day history of fatiguability, epigastric pain and melena. A computed tomography scan revealed a hypodense lesion, measuring 6 × 6 × 5 cm, along the upper part of the stomach.

Background: Angiolipoma is a benign neoplasm mainly composed of adipose tissue and proliferating blood vessels and is relatively rare in the gastrointestinal tract. And among them, gastric angiolipomas are extremely rare and tend to be small.
Case Presentation: We report the clinical and imaging features of a patient with a huge angiolipoma in the stomach and an episode of hematemesis and melena, caused by the ulceration of the gastric mucosa overlying the gastric subepithelial angiolipoma revealed by the endoscopic evaluation.

Objective: Angiolipoma is a benign tumor that rarely occurs in the gastrointestinal (GI) tract. This case series was performed to increase clinicians' understanding of the diagnosis and management of GI angiolipoma.
Methods: We evaluated the clinical presentations, diagnoses, and treatments of 3 patients with angiolipoma in the upper GI tract in our hospital and 27 cases reported in the literature.
