We report the [Al(NON)(Te)(THF)] anion containing a terminal aluminium telluride bond. DFT calculations confirm appreciable Al-Te multiple bond character and reaction with CO proceeds via a double insertion to afford the previously unknown tellurodicarbonate ligand.

Targeted gene editing can be achieved using CRISPR-Cas9-assisted recombineering. However, high-efficiency editing requires careful optimization for each locus to be modified, which can be tedious and time-consuming. In this work, we developed a simple, fast and cheap method: Engineered Assembly of SYnthetic operons for targeted editing (EASY-edit) in Escherichia coli.

A JJ stent placed before retrograde intrarenal surgery (RIRS) may passively dilate the ureter and facilitate ureteral access sheath (UAS) implantation. No studies have examined the significance of preoperative JJ stent diameter, even though numerous studies have shown that UAS insertion is simpler in patients with them. Our study examines the relationship between preoperative ureteral stent caliber and UAS placement and RIRS results.

We describe a case of a 64-year-old obese woman with a history of severe acute cholecystitis and choledocholithias who underwent laparoscopic cholecystectomy in our clinic after endoscopic treatment by sphincterotomy and stent insertion. On the first operative day, a significant bile leakage of 400 ml appeared in the drainage. An immediate surgical revision was performed, starting by laparoscopy with conversion to open surgery.

Topochemical reduction of the n = 2 Ruddlesden-Popper oxide, LaSrCoRuO, yields LaSrCoRuO, a phase containing (Co/Ru)O squares which share corners to form 1D infinite double-chains. In contrast, fluorination of LaSrCoRuO yields the oxyfluoride LaSrCoRuOF, which can then be reduced to form LaSrCoRuOF. This reduced oxyfluoride is almost isoelectronic with LaSrCoRuO, but LaSrCoRuOF has a crystal structure in which the (Co/Ru)O squares are connected into 2D infinite sheets.

Background: Umbilical arterial catheterisation is a common intervention performed in the neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) especially in extremely preterm and extremely low birth weight neonates. Rarely catheter fracture or breakage can occur, leaving behind part of the catheter in the aorta. A handful of cases have been reported in the literature, with the majority being managed surgically.
