This study addressed a gap in the literature by examining the role of core self-evaluations as a predictor of retirement preparation (i.e., attitudes, expectations, and goals), compared to other important aspects such as demographic, financial, health, and work-related variables. Based on the resource-based dynamic model for retirement adjustment and the core self-evaluations theory, the present study showed that core self-evaluations significantly and positively affected the social component of retirement adjustment (H1), the retirement expectations of new beginning (H2), the retirement expectations of continuity (H3), and retirement goals (H4). Additionally, core-self evaluations negatively affected the retirement expectations of imposed disruption (H5). All the analyses were controlled for age, gender, perceived health, financial situation, job centrality, and expected retirement age. In conclusion, core self-evaluations are valuable and supportive to workers across the work lifespan, and for dealing with the retirement preparation.

Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenase 1 (IDO1) is a heme-containing enzyme considered as a potential therapeutic target for neurodegenerative diseases and cancer. However, the further development of traditional IDO1 inhibitors has been hindered by their limited clinical efficacy. Recently, type IV apo-IDO1 inhibitors offer a new strategy for developing IDO1 inhibitors due to their highly selective and durable inhibition.

Background: Recurrent Emergency Department (ED) visits for non-cardiac chest pain are common among postpartum women. When cardiac workups are repeatedly normal, psychiatric etiologies, particularly trauma-related personality disorders, should be considered. Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD) may present with panic-like somatic symptoms during periods of interpersonal stress but is often underrecognized in acute care settings.

Polymeric nanoparticles offer considerable potential in resolving key issues related to the delivery of small lipophilic pharmaceutics. However, significant challenges remain with respect to the development and application of multifunctional, easily accessible fluorescent tools for tracing the cellular uptake and trafficking of soft nanoparticles. We have evaluated a platform for this purpose utilizing the pH-responsive molecular sensor seminaphthofluorescein-C (benzo[]xanthene 'SNAFL-C'); its chemical conjugation to an asymmetric miktoarm star polymer (AB) at its hydrophobic arm terminus; and traceable polymeric nanoparticles through self-assembly of SNAFL-AB or physical encapsulation of the fluorophore.

Background: Affordability of health care systems depends on populations' engagement in preventive health behavior and appropriate self-management of long-term conditions. Digital health interventions (DHIs) could facilitate this by prompting and supporting individual health behavior change. Behavior change is often undermined by suboptimal prioritization of goals.

Background: Accurate and accessible measurements of inflammatory biomarkers are crucial for the diagnosis and monitoring of inflammatory diseases. The gold-standard C-reactive protein (CRP) requires venipuncture, which, despite providing high-quality samples, can cause discomfort, anxiety, and pain, particularly in vulnerable populations such as older patients. It is also resource-intensive, is unsuitable for remote or at-home use, and lacks continuous monitoring capability.
