Article Abstract

Within sarcomas 50 different histological subtypes exist, each with their own molecular and clinical characteristics. The combination of tumor subtype heterogeneity and often a limited number of clinical cases make detailed molecular sarcoma studies challenging, particularly when focusing on individual cohorts. However, the increasing number of publicly available genomics data opens inroads to overcome this obstacle. The international public repositories for high-throughput microarray and next-generation sequence functional genomic data sets submitted by the research community create resources that are freely available for download in a variety of formats. Here, we describe the selected web resources for sarcoma genomics research. These resources support archiving of raw data, processed data, and metadata which are indexed, cross-linked, and searchable.

Treatment and Survival for Unresectable Pancreatic Adenocarcinoma in Queensland, Australia, 2018-2022.

Cancer Med

September 2025

Adem Crosby Cancer Centre, Department of Medical Oncology, Division of Cancer Care Services, Sunshine Coast University Hospital, Birtinya, Queensland, Australia.

Background: The three main chemotherapy regimens for people with unresectable pancreatic cancer include modified FOLFIRINOX (comprising oxaliplatin, irinotecan and fluorouracil, denoted mFFX), gemcitabine with nab-paclitaxel (GnP), and single-agent gemcitabine (GEM). We explored characteristics associated with the type of chemotherapy and variations in survival.

Materials And Methods: Records for people with unresected pancreatic adenocarcinoma between 2018 and 2022 treated with first-line mFFX, GnP or GEM were extracted from the population-based Queensland Oncology Repository.

NMR spectroscopy is a versatile technique for studies of molecular structures, dynamic processes, and intermolecular interactions across a broad range of systems, including small molecules, macromolecules, biomolecular assemblies, and materials in both solution and solid-state environments. As the complexity of NMR studies continues to pose challenges for practitioners, the integration of machine learning is recognized as a promising research direction for improving data acquisition, processing, and analysis. Here, we summarize recent findings in this area, highlighting common applications such as signal detection, chemical shift assignment, structure determination, chemical shift prediction, non-uniform sampling reconstruction, and denoising.

Introduction: The heterogeneity of metadata continues to be a key challenge in the healthcare sector. The Data Dictionary Minimal Information Model (DDMIM) aims to meet the need for interoperability between different standards and data dictionaries to facilitate the exchange of metadata.

Objective: This paper presents the conception, and the development of a metadata search portal based on the DDMIM specification, designed to improve the discoverability and accessibility of health datasets and enhance interoperability.

Study Question: Can testicular tissue from trans women (trans tissue) be used to create human testicular organoids?

Summary Answer: Testosterone-producing and cytotypic human testicular organoids with bicompartmental architecture can be successfully generated from trans tissue.

What Is Known Already: Testicular organoids are a promising tool for studying testicular function and the effects of toxicants. Immature testicular cells are currently the most efficient at forming organoids that closely recapitulate seminiferous tubule-like architecture and functions.
