In recent years, zebrafish have become increasingly important in experimental sciences, with transportation being a critical step in their use. However, the vibrations during transportation often induce stress responses in the fish, impairing their physiological functions and even leading to death. As a key environmental modulator, light conditions have been shown to significantly affect the physiological state of fish.

The aqueous extract of Moringa oleifera leaves has been previously characterized for its polyphenolic composition, yet the behavior of its colloidal aggregates under dilution remains largely unexplored. In this study, we investigate the structural and chemical properties of these aggregates at room temperature, focusing on their stability and surface exposure upon dilution. Although the aggregates break up as dilution increases, they never fully dissolve within the conditions explored.

Extreme temperatures pose a serious threat to human health, especially in urban areas where the majority of the world population is living. Temperature-related risks are exacerbated by urban-induced warming but existing exposure assessments rely on a static residential population, thus overlooking space-time changes in population density and their covariation with urban temperatures. Here we combine 1-km monthly daytime and nighttime population estimates for 80 European cities with existing high-resolution urban climate simulations to quantify the impact of daily and seasonal mobility on residents' exposure to heat and cold.

Background: Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a prevalent functional gastrointestinal (FGITD) disorder, the diagnosis is based on Rome Criteria and other subjective tools. Because IBS overlaps with other FGITD and organic diseases, and the subjective tools do not apply to patients with cognitive decline, objective diagnostic tools are important in this category of patients.
Aim: To discuss the role of imaging in IBS diagnosis.

Traditional fermented foods (TFFs) spark debates about their potential health benefits as much is still unclear. Mostly conjectured as functional or living foods, TFFs are produced by live organisms through spontaneous or controlled fermentation processes. Here, we assessed the effect of exposure to Mabisi, a traditional Zambian fermented dairy food product, on the gut microbiota and production of short-chain fatty acids (SCFAs) in stool samples of consumers and non-consumers of Mabisi.
