Background: Capecitabine, an oral prodrug of 5-fluorouracil, is widely used for gastrointestinal malignancies. While its coronary toxicity is well documented, large-vessel complications such as aortic dissection are rarely reported.
Case Summary: We present a 65-year-old man with colorectal cancer who developed Stanford type A aortic dissection 3 days after initiating adjuvant capecitabine therapy.

Introduction: Cigarette smoking negatively affects lung cancer prognosis. Incorporating smoking history into stage-stratified survival analyses may improve prognostication.
Methods: Using the International Association for the Study of Lung Cancer ninth edition NSCLC database, we evaluated the association between smoking status at diagnosis and overall survival (OS) using Kaplan-Meier plots and multivariate Cox proportional hazard regression models adjusted for age, region, sex, histologic type, performance status, and TNM stage.

Vascularized reconstruction of bone defects in the foot after osteomyelitis is a complex procedure that requires an orthoplastic collaboration. This case demonstrates the successful use of a free osteocutaneous fibula flap with a perforator-based skin island to reconstruct the medial midfoot following a late-onset infection after fusion for osteonecrosis. A 63-year-old woman presented after osteonecrosis and failed surgeries, including talonavicular and naviculocuneiform arthrodesis complicated by infection.
