Article Abstract

Intramolecular spatial charge transfer (ISCT) plays a critical role in determining the optical and charge transport properties of thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF) materials. Herein, a new donor/acceptor-type TADF compound based on rigid dibenzothiophene sulfone (DBTS) moiety, , was designed and synthesized. Fluorene unit was used as a rigid linker to position the rigid acceptor and donor subunit in close vicinity with control over their spacing and molecular structure and to achieve high photoluminescence quantum yield (∼53%) and TADF property. For comparison purposes, we constructed the more flexible with a less rotationally constrained diphenylsulphone (DPS) acceptor instead of the rigid DBTS units, and showed no TADF properties and lower PLQY (16.0%). Organic light-emitting diodes (OLEDs) based on achieve an external quantum efficiency (EQE) of 10.3% at 488 nm, which is a fivefold improvement in EQE with respect to .

On-DNA Binder Confirmation: Increasing Confidence in DEL Hits.

J Med Chem

September 2025

Encoded Technologies, Molecular Modalities Discovery, GSK, Cambridge, Massachusetts 02140, United States.

DNA-encoded libraries (DELs) are used throughout small-molecule drug discovery to identify new lead compounds for protein targets. DEL hits are traditionally evaluated via off-DNA resynthesis and subsequent biological testing. This approach can be time- and resource-intensive, limiting the number of putative hits selected for follow-up.

Multienzyme Cascade Coimmobilization on ZIF-8-Coated Magnetic Nanoparticles for Efficient d-Allulose Synthesis.

J Agric Food Chem

September 2025

The State Key Laboratory of Food Science and Resources, Jiangnan University, 1800 Lihu Road, Wuxi 214122, China.

This study develops a multienzyme coimmobilization strategy on NTA-functionalized ZIF-8-coated magnetic nanoparticles (NZMNPs) for efficient d-allulose synthesis. Under optimized immobilization conditions (enzyme-to-carrier ratio: 1:50 w/w, 30 min immobilization), the system achieved an immobilization efficiency of 93.7% along with 107.

Pea shoots (Pisum sativum) are well known to have nutritional benefits when consumed raw; however, the effects of home cooking on their bioactive compounds remain unclear. Therefore, we investigated how different cooking methods affect the antioxidant activity and stability of antioxidants. Our evaluation revealed that antioxidant activity is preserved by steaming but significantly reduced by microwaving and boiling, which also causes weight loss during cooking.

In an attempt to react aminocyclopropenones with cyclic imines in order to synthesise amido-substituted pyrrolizidine natural products, we found that aminocyclopropenones undergo a previously unreported stereospecific and regiospecific catalyst-free, thermal ring-opening reaction with alcohols to yield β-enamino esters (also known as vinylogous carbamates or aminoacrylates). We report 21 examples in 45 to 97% isolated yield. The reaction occurs nucleophilic attack at the cyclopropenone carbonyl followed by regiospecific ring opening of the cyclopropenone with retention of alkene geometry.

Pure-Green Circularly Polarized Multiple Resonance Thermally Activated Delayed Fluorescence Enantiomers with Discontinuous Fused Benzene Rings.

Helicene-based circularly polarized luminescence (CPL) materials suffer from severely low color purity in circularly polarized organic light-emitting diodes (CP-OLEDs). Here, a novel molecular engineering strategy is introduced by replacing helicene containing continuous fused benzene rings with a multiple resonance (MR) framework comprising discontinuous fused benzene rings. This approach effectively suppresses high-frequency C─C bond stretching vibrations and enhances short-range charge transfer, enabling high color purity, CPL activity, and efficient thermally activated delayed fluorescence (TADF).
