Background: Early identification of pathological α-synuclein deposition (αSynD) may improve understanding of Lewy body disorder (LBD) progression and enable timely disease-modifying treatments.
Objectives: We investigated αSynD using a seed amplification assay and assessed prodromal LBD symptoms in individuals with idiopathic olfactory dysfunction (iOD).
Methods: In this cross-sectional, case-control study, we included iOD participants and normosmic healthy controls (HC) aged 55 to 75 years without diagnoses of dementia with Lewy bodies, Parkinson's disease (PD), or other major neurological disorders.

Evaluating the permeability of different molecular structures across the Caco-2 cell line is crucial for drug discovery and development. The present study primarily focuses on developing machine learning-based multiclass classification models for predicting the permeability of molecules across the Caco-2 cell line. However, the class imbalance in permeability datasets poses a significant challenge for developing predictive models in the case of multiclass analysis.

Background: After remission of a first-episode psychosis (FEP), antipsychotic discontinuation is associated with an increased risk of relapse compared to maintenance treatment. We studied short and longer-term effects of discontinuation of D receptor (DR) antagonist and partial agonist antipsychotics on striatal dopamine DR availability in FEP patients.
Methods: Remitted FEP patients underwent two [C]raclopride PET scans to measure striatal DR availability: 1 week after antipsychotic discontinuation (n = 16 antagonist users, n = 6 partial agonist users) and after being medication free for 6-8 weeks (n = 8 antagonist users, n = 5 partial agonist users).

Introduction: One to two percent of women worldwide experience recurrent pregnancy loss (RPL), defined as the loss of two or more consecutive pregnancies before 20 weeks of gestation. Genetic factors, including variations in the FOXP3 gene, have been implicated in the unexplained etiology of RPL. This study aimed to identify and characterize novel genetic variants in exons 2 and 7 of the FOXP3 gene in South Indian women with idiopathic RPL and to analyze their potential impact on protein structure.

BACKGROUND Morel-Lavallee lesions (MLLs) are uncommon, closed soft-tissue degloving injuries caused by high-energy trauma that are often missed due to their rarity and delayed presentation, resulting in serious complications. MLLs are particularly missed and underreported in pediatric and adolescent patients. We describe the case of an adolescent MLL occurring in an atypical lesion site at the calf to increase awareness of this diagnosis and associated presentation in this patient group, which can differ from adult presentation and contribute to diagnostic uncertainty that consequently impacts clinical decision-making.
