TB is still a major public health problem and a threat to global health security. In Italy, TB control is consistent with the WHO global strategy, in which the role of prevention and, within it, contacts tracing and their management are emphasized. In this work, a protocol for the correct and homogeneous management of TB cases, at local level, is described in all its phases, from reporting to contacts management. The containment of the diffusion of the infection and the prevention of new outbreaks depend on the immediate identification of the index case and the proper performance of the epidemiological investigation. For this reason, the translation of scientific evidence into Recommendations and Guidelines is essential, and of these into operational protocols for the local level, with a clear indication of actions and responsibilities.

Background: Sodium-glucose cotransporter 2 (SGLT2) inhibitors, such as Empagliflozin, are antidiabetic drugs that reduce glucose levels and have emerged as a promising therapy for patients with heart failure (HF), although the exact molecular mechanisms underlying their cardioprotective effects remain to be fully elucidated. The EmDia study, a randomized, double-blind trial conducted at the University Medical Center of Mainz, has confirmed the beneficial effects of Empagliflozin in HF patients after both one and twelve weeks of treatment. In this work, we aimed to assess whether changes in lipid profiles driven by Empagliflozin use in HF patients in the EmDia trial could assist in gaining a better understanding of its cardioprotective mechanisms.

Background: Many traumatic brain injury (TBI) treatment protocols, including the Lund concept, advocate the highest point of the subarachnoid space (typically the vertex) as the zero-reference point for intracranial pressure (ICP) and the level of the right atrium as the zero-reference point for mean arterial blood pressure (MAP). In 2017, at the Department of Neurosurgery in Lund, Sweden, the zero-reference points for ICP and MAP were both changed to the external auditory meatus (EAM), thus altering the calculated cerebral perfusion pressure (CPP) levels. We hypothesized that the ICP and MAP levels obtained from the different zero-reference points resulted in altered neurocritical care management and/or patient outcome.

Background: The tyrosine kinase inhibitor (TKI) imatinib targets KIT and PDGFRA, offering significant therapeutic benefits in advanced gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). However, the high rate of recurrence following treatment discontinuation suggests that drug-tolerant persister cells (DTPs) may contribute to therapy resistance. Elucidating the mechanisms underlying DTP survival is critical for the development of curative strategies.

To investigate the clinicopathological features, genetic characteristics, and differential diagnosis of glomangiomatosis with uncertain malignant potential. Two cases of glomangiomatosis with uncertain malignant potential were collected at Henan Provincial People's Hospital from 2013 and 2023. Immunohistochemistry and next generation sequencing (DNA-seq) were used to detect the related protein and gene variation.

To investigate the clinicopathological features, diagnosis, and prognosis of aggressive natural killer-cell leukemia (ANKL). A retrospective analysis was conducted on 27 ANKL patients treated at the First Affiliated Hospital of Nanjing Medical University from 2014 to 2024. Their clinical data, histomorphology, and immunophenotype were reviewed.
