In this work the interaction of halide anions and simple aromatic compounds with a bichromophoric fluorescent dyad derived from 1,8-naphthalimide (NAPIM) and 5-(dimethylamino)naphthalene-1-sulfonyl (DANS) was studied using electronic spectroscopy, H, and F NMR spectroscopy and quantum chemistry modeling (b3lyp/def2-TZVP). The NAPIM-DANS dyad interacts with electron-rich guests with binding constants in the range of 6×10 to 8×10M in CHCl. The formed complexes are stabilized through aryl C-H … anion and aryl C-H … π interactions.

Naomaohu lignite (NL) from Hami, Xinjiang, was ultrasonically extracted with a mixed solvent of CS and acetone (in equal volumes) to obtain the extract residue (ER). The ER was then separated based on density differences with CCl to yield the corresponding light residue (NL-L). The composition and structural characteristics of the light residue were characterized by proximate, ultimate, infrared, and thermogravimetric analyses (TG-DTG).

Molecular hybridization of isoniazid with hydrophobic aromatic moieties represents a promising strategy for the development of novel anti-tubercular therapeutics. In this study, a series of hybrid molecules (5a-i) was synthesized by linking isoniazid with aromatic sulfonate esters via a hydrazone bridge. Molecular docking studies revealed that these compounds interact effectively with the catalytic triad of the InhA enzyme (Y158, F149, and K165), suggesting their potential as InhA inhibitors.

In this paper, we present the NMR analysis of multivalent compounds displaying chondroitin sulfate E (CS-E) disaccharide ligands and their interaction with langerin. The disaccharides correspond to the two alternative sequences of CS-E: GlcA-GalNAc and GalNAc-GlcA. Firstly, we studied the conformation of the two corresponding series of glycodendrimers free in solution and in the presence of langerin.

An interesting ruthenium(III) complex, -[Ru(HL)Cl(PPh)], has been synthesized using a redox-active tetradentate bis-azo diamine ligand (HL). This complex represents the first example of a structurally robust, air- and moisture-stable coordination compound featuring a redox non-innocent ligand that provides a unique N4 donor set comprising both strong π-acidic (azo) and σ-donating (amido) groups. The complex has been comprehensively characterized by elemental analysis, various spectroscopic techniques, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction (SCXRD) studies.

The spoilage of bulgur, characterized by a distinctive off-odor, poses a significant challenge to the bulgur industry, resulting in an annual production loss of 10 %. The tempering process plays a critical role to prevent this problem. This study investigated spoilage under high-moisture tempering conditions (15-27 % moisture, 25, 35 and 45 °C, 0-12 h), focusing on off-odor formation, volatile compounds and microbial activity.
