In this study, stable hybrid materials (Mt-Fe(III)Phen), made by the μ-oxo Fe(III)-phenanthroline complex [(OH)(Phen)FeOFe(Phen)(OH)] (Fe(III)Phen) intercalated in different amounts into montmorillonite (Mt), were used as a trap for immobilizing gaseous benzene and naphthalene and their mono chloro-derivatives at 25 and 50 °C. The entrapping process was studied through elemental analysis, magic angle spinning NMR spectroscopy, thermal analysis, and evolved gas mass spectrometry. Naphthalene and 1-chloronaphthalene were found to be immobilized in large amount at both temperatures. Molecular modeling allowed designing of the structure of the interlayer in the presence of the immobilized aromatic molecules. Adsorption is affected by the amount of the Fe complex hosted in the interlayer of the entrapping hybrid materials. On the contrary, under the same conditions, benzene and chlorobenzene were not adsorbed. Thermal desorption of naphthalenes was obtained under mild conditions, and immobilization was found to be reversible at least for 20 adsorption/desorption cycles.

Purpose Of Review: Sulbactam-durlobactam (SUL-DUR) is a novel β-lactam/β-lactamase inhibitor combination recently approved for carbapenem-resistant Acinetobacter baumannii (CRAB) infections. This review summarizes current knowledge on the optimal use of SUL-DUR, whether administered alone or in combination with carbapenems, particularly imipenem.
Recent Findings: Data from registrational trial demonstrate that SUL-DUR is an effective and well tolerated treatment option for CRAB severe infections.

Purpose Of Review: Modern presbyopia-correcting intraocular lenses (IOLs) offer a potential solution to address the rising postoperative demand and expectations for spectacle independence following cataract surgery. However, IOL calculation and selection becomes more complex when presented with previous corneal refractive surgery (CRS) or co-existing corneal conditions. This review explores the use of presbyopia-correcting IOLs in eyes with co-existing corneal conditions or surgically altered corneas.

Background: With the availability of more advanced and effective treatments, life expectancy has improved among patients with metastatic breast cancer (MBC), but this makes communication with their medical oncologist more complex. Some patients struggle to learn about their therapeutic options and to understand and articulate their preferences. Mobile health (mHealth) apps can enhance patient-provider communication, playing a crucial role in the diagnosis, treatment, quality of life, and outcomes for patients living with MBC.

African Swine Fever (ASF), caused by the highly contagious African swine fever virus (ASFV), poses a significant threat to domestic and wild pigs worldwide. Despite its limited host range and lack of zoonotic potential, ASF has severe socio-economic and environmental consequences. Current control strategies primarily rely on early detection and culling of infected animals, but these measures are insufficient given the rapid spread of the disease.

A fused octapyrrolylanthracene, representing a nonplanar pyrrole-fused aza-nanographene with two deep gulf-edge regions, was readily synthesized and found to exhibit a ladder-shaped bent structure. Electrochemical studies revealed reversible multielectron oxidation up to four electrons. Stepwise oxidation with AgPF or I afforded a singlet diradical dication and a closed-shell aromatic tetracation.
