Article Abstract

When a critical blood glucose value is detected, then it is necessary to inform, advice, communicate, act and document it in the patient's medical record. We sought to describe the development of an alert system for glycemia values at the point of care integrated with an EHR, both in desktop and mobile devices.

Background: Clinical decision support system (CDSS) mainly refers to a computer application system that uses relevant and systematic clinical knowledge and patients' basic information, as well as medical information, to strengthen medical-related decisions/actions and improve medical quality and medical service level.

Objective: To analyze research status, hot topics and developmental trends, and to provide references for future research in this field.

Methods: CiteSpace was used to conduct scientific measurement and visualization analysis of relevant literature from 1969 to 2023 in the Web of Science core collection database.

Background And Aims: Knowing that heart failure (HF) with preserved ejection fraction (HFpEF) can be difficult to diagnose, a clinical decision support system (CDSS), with functional, morphological and biomarker domains, was built. Therefore, this research aimed to analyse the possibility of implementing CDSS, compliance of the physicians with the CDSS recommendations, as well as identify obstacles and facilitators to its usage.

Methods: This mixed-methods study was conducted over a 1 year period at the Institute of Cardiovascular Diseases of Vojvodina (Sremska Kamenica, Serbia).

Background: Prostate cancer, the second most prevalent cancer among men with 1.4 million newly diagnosed cases, poses intricate challenges in treatment decision-making due to multifaceted influencing factors. The aim was to assess the efficacy of clinical decision support software (CDSS) in pre-therapeutic prostate cancer management.

Background: The implementation of the Nursing process (NP) is a complex and cognitively demanding task that can be enhanced by using clinical decision support systems (CDSSs). While some CDSSs assist in the management of patients with specific patient conditions, nursing process clinical decision support systems (NP-CDSSs) are designed to support nursing decisions through all five sequential NP steps: assessment, nursing diagnosis (NDs), planning, intervention, and evaluation. Although an internationally agreed standard for NP-CDSS development (ICS4NP-CDSSs) was published in 2016, outlining recommended design and functional features for NP-CDSSs, current NP-CDSSs show limited compliance with these guidelines.

Background: Telephone triage could limit admissions to emergency departments. However, telephone triage is challenging in pediatrics due to nonspecific symptoms, reliance on parental description, and emotional distress. Clinical decision support systems (CDSSs) could improve the accuracy and quality of telephone triage.
